Aug BOTM: Chapters 10-19 Discussion: Pivot Point

I'm going to start as soon as a get to a decent stopping place in This Girl. I'm reading them both on my kindle so I'm switching back and forth.

I am about halfway through this section. I am still struggling with the split storyline thing, but the action is making up for it now.

Ok, so that section is finished. Now I am really starting to get even more sucked into the story line.

But I cannot wait for everyone else to finish this section because there are some interesting things I want to discuss

AH ! Yes Lindsay, that dude is just way too scary ;)

I'm still Team Duke at the moment and I'm holding out hope that he is unaware of the thing that is happening to the other teams ;)

Omigosh, yes! I was like, wait, there is some overlap there now between the two realities. I can see things starting to come together and it is eerie.

Yes the overlap is terrifying me! And Angela team duke??? I can see we have very diff tastes. I don't trust duke at all and I loooove Trevor LOL

But there is no romantic involvement with Trevor, he is just the friend, although maybe that will change?

They have so much chemistry! They def. have feelings for each other. Especially when they're in the car getting the bobble head. I hate duke and I don't know why :S something just feels off?? LOL

I am so concerned for their future LOL. This book is amazing!

I am trying so hard not to blaze ahead an read the whole thing.

The two paths overlapping is definitely upping the greatness. I'm very intrigued on how it is going to play out or converge.

Yes!! Like when she is in the norm would and Poison shows at Laila's.

I am starting to feel the same way. I was all for Team Duke the entire first segment we read (ch. 1-9), but now that stuff is starting to overlap and knowing what happened to Trevor I am thinking about switching sides. I have a bad feeling about Duke now.

AH! I thought the exact same thing. I honestly think (view spoiler)[something bad might happen to Laila, in regards to Poison, and that Addie will have to stop it from becoming reality. (hide spoiler)]

I already finished the book so I wont spoil anything but I really hated Duke from the start. I don't think there was ever a time where I did like him. Trevor all the way for me.

I have been trying not to but I think I am probably going to end up finishing it this week because it is killing me not knowing.,

It is one of those books where it is hard to stop at the end of each chapter because you just want to know what is going to happen next. I think I read the book in two days because I just couldn't wait. Now I find myself sitting around waiting for the sequel lol.

The notes in the books are so freaking cute.

I like how they overlapped what had happened in the previous chapter with the opposing reality, like Laila's dad asking for $$ in both ch 9 and ch 10.

Rowan is not one of my favorite characters...and I was kinda bummed that Trevor was putting Addie in that position. But I do like that he is looking for the common denom in all the football injuries.

I still liked Duke up to this point - the movie at her house while she was grounded and taking her off campus for school (and including Laila in that).

The whole Poison thing on both possible realities is very unnerving :/ I like how each version of Addie knew different pieces of Poison, but if they put it together, they would know what was going on.

I LOVE the Norm chapters though. I found myself wanting to race through the "boring" Para chapters to get back to Trevor & the Norm world.

I'm worried for L. I'm wondering who's murder is the interview about on the DVD. I was worried it was L, but I don't think that is possible unless there is an even weirder time component going on that we don't know about it.

I'm still hoping that Duke isnt behind who is hurting players....maybe just some evil coach BUT I like Trevor way more.

So why is Duke interested in her all the sudden?

I wondered why Duke was interested too. and why all of a sudden she fell for him when she disliked him in the beginning

I'm super worried for L too!!

I like to think that Duke just finds her awesome...haha

As for why she is liking him when she didn't before? I think that she just didn't want to like that kind of guy, but his charm seems to be infectious.

I also thought it was sooo weird that she didn't like him before. But Angela your theory makes sense
