Did you get to read this one, Cristal? I remember you saying that you were going to read it a while back :-)

Nope. I've been at home this past week sick, so I decided it out be a good time to get on it. Just started it over the weekend. Liking it so far! Will you be checking it out this month?
How much do you rate it, Emily?
Nice, Cristal :-) I just borrowed the book so I will read it soon. I hope you feel better ASAP! :-)

I read this book awhile ago and I was totally blown away by it. The main character is likable and the author introduces us to the very vivid world of the Big Easy in the 1950s. I also loved how varied all the characters are in personality, situation, age, gender, race, you name it. I loved it! It's probably my favourite book of 2013 so far.
The Big Easy is a nickname for New Orleans because of the easy-going attitude there. That's where the title of the book comes from.
I read this book awhile back as well and really loved it. I agree with Emma Louise that the main character is extremely likable--I like how her strength is about her smarts and determination. Sepetys also does a great job building up the setting and using it effectively. I loved this book.
