Julia (juliastrimer) I just found some scenes from the McKellen/Dench version; here she is, giving me chills in the "out, out" speech. I've never heard any actress pull this off so well.

That is amazing! It is definitely chilling indeed!

Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ Jenn Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ Schu (jennschureviews) Definitely a chilling performance, the sounds of her voice, the glazed and frightened facial expressions, amazing!

I think tonight i'm going to re-watch my Orson Welles version of Macbeth. The Weird Sisters in this film are so creepy, and being in black and white does add to the somber mood of the film.

I enjoy it. The Weird Sisters scenes in the film are by far some of the scariest for sure. And being in black and white adds to this mood. I recommend it! Also, if you search youtube, you will find another version he created called "Voodoo" Macbeth. It's quite interesting.

Julia (juliastrimer) I've been excited to learn about the "Fold the Flock" project through the Smithsonian--my friend gave me one of the origami passenger pigeons, which are being folded in honor of the 100th anniversary of the death of the last passenger pigeon, Martha. She was named after George Washington's wife. Immediately following her death in 1914 at the Cincinnati Zoological Gardens, she was packed in an enormous 300-pound block of ice and shipped to the Smithsonian. Martha is back on display in the Smithsonian from June 2014 to September 2015 for the exhibit "Once There Were Billions."

Read about the project here: http://library.si.edu/digital-library...

And for $12.50, you can buy a kit of 50 sheets of the pattern here: http://foldtheflock.org/download/

Here's how they look--and I'm so excited that this project is honoring this bird!

Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ Jenn Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ Schu (jennschureviews) Oh how wonderful, Julia! Makes me wish that I still lived in the D.C area!
