Fingers crossed! Starting it today. :)
I listened to this and loved it. The narrator did a great job bringing the brothers to life. It was so much fun to hear Old Red channeling Sherlock Holmes' methods :)

Just finished the book and found it to be rather entertaining. May look into the next in the series. I will say there were points in the book that I had to set it down because I was beginning to lose interest but after a short break from it I was able to once again enjoy the story.
Looking forward to seeing other's comments on this book.
I loved the relationship between the brothers. I believe I'm envious :) Old Red is obviously smart, but had to work to help send Big Red to school. Now the two combine their talents to solve the murders.

I agree it was nice that the two main characters were male. The other thing I liked about this book (and the second one) was that they weren't smarter than the local police. I really enjoy reading cozies but after a binge read of cozies I wonder how any crimes get solved without the help of interfering old ladies, bakers, oh so busy stay at home moms, inn keepers.....

I'm not sure if I will continue with the series or not. I may put it on my list for when I'm looking for a quick read or when I'm on the wait list for other books.

The part about Sherlock Holmes being real kind of took me aback too.
Finished Holmes on the Range and enjoyed it. It was a good mystery with lots of twists and a resolution I did not figure out. Thanks for picking this author, it got the book off my TBR.
One of the bonuses for me was realizing how dangerous and precarious life was for cowboys. I don't read Westerns normally and never thought about it. Nowhere close to the romanticized TV version.
From others comments, I expected Sherlock Holmes to actually appear in the story - he doesn't. Fictional characters referring to another fictional character as 'real' was not an issue for me.

Thank you for the info, I keep checking his website to see when a new one will come out. Guess I have to hope he gets a new publisher soon.
Unfortunately I seem to be the kiss of death on products that I like. Maybe this could be a new career for me people can pay me to really like competitors and then the competitors will cease to exist.
