I like that theory, as it matches my own.😉
hi , new here, this has been bothering me for a while and your answers are great. i have one Issue - well, at list in the show , Jamie is very young as the ghost , he almost looks like before or early meeting Claire, in the book there is no mention if he is young or not , but the Jamie that sees her is not the older Jamie but the younger Jamie, right? I always find that confusing , like maybe he dreams about her before they meet? is this like a prep for him ? I can't wait for this to be solved

Personally, I think they were soulmates before they ever met, and are drawn to each other without really understanding why.
Yes, Parker, it is young Jamie. In one of the blog posts Diana explains that he is about 25, which may put him the age he was at Culloden. She also says that she will explain the ghost in the last book. Sigh.

😉 Though I can't complain too much about the time it takes; not when her books are so richly detailed.

My (current!) theory is Jamie is waiting for Claire as he knows that she will enter his life the next day. I also wonder if maybe she is thinking about 'ghostly' things, triggered by memories of the dancers, whilst at Craigh na Dun collecting her plants and that is why she goes through the stones to Jamie's time, in fact she was remembering what Frank had said he'd seen the night before about the Highlander ghost. After all, the books indicate that you need to be thinking about someone in order to "steer" through time...
