I was a little confused in the first few chapters too, but it gets lot less confusing. :)

p. 155- about halfway through... I'm getting so frustrated that they can't touch. oh... and i love Cash... he sounds so cute!
For some reason, Cash is not clicking with me... The book is good, (I'm on chapter 17) but I'm not crushing on Cash.
I only felt so-so about Cash. I think I'll probably like him more in the next book.
Greta - I didn't even realise there was a third book planned!

Cash was alright, but sometimes i felt like he was a bit of a jerk. I am really looking forward to his POV in the second book though. I really want to see what these problems he had, since he always confided in Emma.
Plus, i really wanted to see more of Anaya. :)
Finn is seriously a horny dude! i suppose that is what happens when you haven't been touched in a LONG time! lol!
I didn't like her mom much either, she acted more like a teenager than her daughter. I think it's pretty shocking the way her mom never cooks, and gets all dreamy about her boyfriend!

I figured that she probably wanted to move on after 2 years, I think some people do. I just thought she was acting quite immaturely, and she didn't seem to offer Emma much support.

Ok...as I understood it, you go to the Inbetween to decide if you will have a chance at another life. By falling in love with Finn...she ruined that chance of having another life, so she was going to turn into a Shadow. Then Finn intervened, stole Maeve's chance, and instead gave Allison another chance at Heaven. Right?
She wasn't supposed to be reborn. Maeve was.

That's right. You only get 10 years in the inbetween, then you become a shadow. only a selected few are reborn, and it was Allison's last chance to be reborn as she was almost at her 10 years. It's a bit unfair really. My question is, how many reapers would there be if everyone who ever murdered anyone became a reaper? I mean Finn became a reaper because he killed people in a war, that must mean that there'd be thousands of reapers surely?

i had the same thought. i really didn't like this book's portrayal of the after life. i felt bad for Maeve. i didnt like how that was resolved at all.
so you agree also that it was her love for Finn that prevented her from being chosen to get sent back. thats massively unfair. i mean what were they supposed to be learning on the InBetween?
I'm not really sure of the point of the inbetween. the whole thing seemed a bit unfair really. I don't know why they didn't give emma another chance, but i would have thought that everyone in the inbetween should have had another chance really. it wasn't fair what happened to Maeve, but i think everyone should have been given another chance.

Abbie, Jona and I will be reading
the second book in the series from August 13th. Everybody welcome ☺
Cash is haunted by things. Hungry, hollow things. They only leave him alone when Anaya, Heaven’s beautiful reaper, is around. Cash has always been good with girls, but Anaya isn’t like the others. She’s dead. And with his deteriorating health, Cash might soon be as well.
Anaya never breaks the rules, but the night of the fire she recognized part of Cash’s soul—and doomed him to something worse than death. Cash’s soul now resides in an expired body, making him a shadow walker—a rare, coveted being that can walk between worlds. A being creatures of the underworld would do anything to get their hands on.
The lines between life and death are blurring, and Anaya and Cash find themselves falling helplessly over the edge. Trapped in a world where the living don’t belong, can Cash make it out alive?

Finished the first 5 chapters! I think Cash have every right to be mad right now because he was put on a very unfavorable position. Whatever plan Balthazar have for Cash' soul, it better be good because right now all i can see is how unfair everything is for Cash. He could have been having fun in heaven right now but no, they let them stay in a deteriorating body which in turn attracts shadow demons who are waiting to consume his soul.
Sarah wrote: "I'm starting after lunch ☺"great! can't wait to hear your thoughts about this one. I think this is better than the first book, it's more emotional and the whole concept of the "inbetween" is less confusing.
I'll probably be a few days late to start this one!I still have my other to finish,, and i'm on babysitting duties again all weekend!
Will most likely start Monday now!

I finished the book already! I loved it! I think Anaya and Cash got a better deal from Balthazar than Em and Finn.

Ohh, so Novel's the only one finished.
I'm now on chapter 3. I really feel sorry for Cash because of the shadow demons.
I have lots of question in my head! I think I'm going to love this one! ;)
