Alisha | 34 comments So I've got a story line going, ideas and situations.. Writing a story is like putting a puzzle together blind folded without having all the pieces. How do I want a zombie story to end that's unique and I'll be happy with it? I feel I need some direction in how is like it to end.

Did anyone else out there prefer the alternative ending of 28 days later where Cillain Murphy dies and Celene and Hannah are leaving the hospital to brave the unknown?

Different movie but horror (the decent) did anyone enjoy the alternative ending where Sarah believes she sees her daughter in front of her when she's really just in a mental state and she's truly truly trapped?

Steven (tbones) | 92 comments I gotta say, I love zombie books, comics and movies but this is a creature that seems to be getting tougher to come up with something new and fresh with. I'd say a zombie story that ends with a happy ending would be a new thing though. They all end pretty horribly from what I've read and seen. Also, end the story. Be unique in the aspect of ending a book so we don't all get caught up in another series. It's so rare to read something that isn't in a series now-a-days and I am a sucker for them myself but can't always keep up with them mentally or financially. Ending also gives you the chance to move on to a whole new creature or make up one yourself :O)
As for the movies, I haven't seen them in a while so I can't answer about the alternate endings but I can say I remembered liking those films...I own them and should watch them again soon :o)

Whatever you decide make it satisfying for the reader. Nobody wants to see a book end abruptly with no resolution or worse on a they all died the end.

Steven (tbones) | 92 comments I don't know some times when everyone dies in the end it gives you the feeling that nobody is safe in the author's title but I'd say if you kill everyone in this title don't repeat this in another one...keep people on the edge.

Ian McClellan | 294 comments I like a story that ends on a harsher note. Life doesn't always have a happy ending. I'll tell you from experience that an abrupt ending will piss some people off, but some folks will really like it if it's done right.

Alisha | 34 comments Thanks for the advice peeps! :) would any of you believe I'm getting married in a few months and my wedding invitation will be zombie themed :) ? Some stories do have a good ending.

I'll be interested where this story takes me. I appreciate everyone's thoughts

Ian McClellan | 294 comments That is way cool Alisha. Congrats to you both!

Kristin (Blood,Sweat and Books) (goodreadscomhermyoni) | 274 comments I don't mind some death at the end but for me it is just so unsatisfying if every single character dies.
