How to separate the duplicate and its actual edition from any other editions of that book.

I am a new librarian wishing to merge two identical editions. The manual says to:

1. Separate the duplicate and its actual edition from any other editions of that book.
2. Combine them just with each other.

I am unsure of exactly how to go about doing that. Can someone please give me further instruction? Thanks for your help.

Go to the books combine page, find the editions you want to separate. At the end of the list of editions is a link called separate tool.

Click on the separate tool link, then select the appropriate radio buttons for the two editions you wish to separate - and separate.

Merge the editions and then recombine the edition with the others
