I'm putting together a bug-out bag... I just don't know what to put in it? Any suggestions?

Doug that looks like a good bookhttp://www.amazon.com/Parasite-Story-...
Judging from the title and reviews.. a healthy supply of Raid bug spray.
Extra socks! Always have clean socks. A couple of T-shirts and a pair of pants. Lighters, batteries, radio, flashlight/ chem lights. All the dry food you can carry. Water will be a problem. Try water purification tabs or some bleach (better know how much to use, or you'll get the runs). A good knife, first aid kit, and multi-tool.I like duct tape, pencil and paper, and a towel. Also, just thought about it: rubber gloves, don't want zombie guts under those fingernails.
Looked it up. 8-16 drops of household bleach per gallon. Depends on how clear/cloudy it is. Blanket of some sort is also a must.Think:1) water
2) safety
3) warmth (nights can get cold everywhere)
4) security
5) hygiene
In addition to the above - iodine tablets, several months supply of any meds you're taking and good quality vitamins. A space blanket would be a good idea. A small tarp. Garbage bags. As a matter of fact, my husband packs all his kit in garbage bags - put the bag into your backpack like a liner to keep your stuff dry. I'd also hang a small hatchet on the outside of my bag. Bug spray would be a great idea - a teensy bottle of tea tree oil can work in a pinch and might be easier to carry. Waterless soap, too, and some wet wipes. A deck of cards. A small sewing kit.
I think I'll bug out with Glyn. But I'm bringing my kindle and acer tablet and and my 8 foot, 8 plug in surge protector power strip ... If there's room a year supply of Folgers coffee, I don't need creamer but sugar would be good.
Don't forget the paracord and windproof matches. Also, throw in dental floss. It has all kinds of uses and doesn't take up much space.
A fire starter, waterproof baggy, matches, first aid kit, water purification tablet, a knife, multi purpose knife set, safety pins, bandana, R.E.M., canned goods, water, extra batteries, torch, hand warmers, instant ice pack, sas survival guide, more books just cause, cards, socks, jocks, waterproof jacket, wet ones for sanitizing purpose, toilet paper and yes coffee is an ultimate must.
I wrote a blog on this topic a while ago. It is basically a list of the stuff I take with me when I go camping. I've provided a link if you'd like to take a look. http://beaujohnston.com.au/index.php/...
The CDC has some suggestions. https://www.cdc.gov/phpr/zombie/index...Because.. Tax money... I had plenty of people ask me what a bug out bag was when my Zombie series somehow got popular in a Romance List.. Check them out and let me know what you think if you like a Zombie series where the "heroes" end up on a mission they're barely qualified for while trying to fight off Zombies and keep there bug out bags topped off.
