I have read and fallen in love with all kinds of romance novels but my favorite is the paranormal kind. I have run out of books to read! Please some suggestions would be greatly appreciated (even if it is not paranormal).THANKS!

Have you read Kresley Cole No Rest For The Wicked the entire series is darn good or have you tried Shelly Laurenston she also does a dragon series under the name G A Aiken

Also one of the best authors in paranoral romance is Karen Marie Moning Darkfever she also does a highlander series which is amazing. Hope this helps :)

What kind of PNR do you prefer? My PNR being of choice is vampires. My favorites are:


Dominion series by S.E. Lund (I've read the 3 books that have been released, one more to be released late 2013. There is a very good CR by her, too.)
Elemental Mysteries series by Elizabeth Hunter (I've read the complete 4 book series; I haven't read the spinoff series yet but it looks good, too.)
Venice Vampyr series by Tina Folsom (HR/PNR novella; I have only read the 1st book but want to read more.)

I agree with Kreeley Cole's IAD series. I also love Lynsay Sands Argeneau series and also Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series .

Nalini Singh both of her series are good!
Richelle Mead all of her series are awesome (dark Swan, Georgia Kincaid, and vampire academy)

I keep meaning to read some of Richelle Mead`s books, I've seen a lot of people talking about her dark swan series. Are there any other authors you can compare her to?

DANGER WILL ROBINSON DANGER!!!!! A warning about Karen Marie Moning. She is HORRIBLE at ending her books with cliff hangers. So, unless the series is finished, you really do NOT want to read them--unless of course, you get off on frustration and screaming at books when you reach the end of the book and realize you have to wait a year to find out what the heck happens next. She HAS finished the Fever series, so that one is safe to read. And her Highlanders series is fairly safe. Other than that--check and see if the series is finished.

No she is really is in a league of her own:) her writing is great, as well as her stories keep you captivated. All her series are equally great, truly worth reading.

My favorite PNR series is Midnight Breed, and the first book is . It's about vampires, but done a bit differently than typical vampires. Some people say they're similar to the BDB.

If you want to try something a bit different than PNR, time travel romance is another genre to consider.

Might I suggest that you try some of Andre Norton's Witch World series. 30+ books in it, but they are loosely grouped into smaller series, all set on/in the same world. I'd read Witch World then Web of the Witch World then Three Against the Witch World then Warlock of the Witch World and finally Sorceress of the Witch World first. Those are books 1-5 of the series, and are connected. The first 2 are Simon Tregarth (from our Earth) and his Witch Wife Jaelithe. The next 3 are about their kids. After that, the smaller series start up. There are various races and species on the planet, not all of which are humanoid.

A quick breakdown for you--

The High Halleck books, The Dales Books, and The Estcarp books. There are also several collections of short stories.

I will warn you--the first 2 books were written late 50's early 60's. And I believe that she wrote the last one the year before she died--2006.

Some may be UFs but I think you should definitely try (Series) by Jeanine Frost; (Series) by Karen Marie Moning; (Series) by Jennifer Estep; (Series) by Chloe Neill and (Part 3 of BDB, I saw that you've read the first two :D)

My two favorites are: The Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews and The Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost.

I really liked Anya Bast's . An added bonus is that it's completed, and only 4 books.

I have to co-signe Hannah's rec of Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series. A must for any PNR fan.

You should also try Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. This is technically the second in the series , but it's the one with the actual Dark Hunter's in it. The first is more a great stand alone with what turns out to peripheral characters that show up throughout the series.

Some PNR-lite series: Blood of the Maple (2 books out in this series so far.) The Wallflowers: A Hunting Love Story, Halle Puma Series Book 1. (This series is actually a collection of 5 or 6 short stories, then a full length novel. But you CAN get the first 5 short stories combined in I believe 2 volumes.)

Molly Harper actually has 2 vampire series. The first is the Nice Girls Don't series. Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs is book 1. The second series is the Half Moon Hollowseries and is actually a spin off from the first series. Then she has a were-wolf series The Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf (Sorry, but I'm not positive if that is #1 or not, but it was the first of the were-wolf ones that I saw.)

Erin McCarthy has 2 series. High Stakes is the first--it's featuring vampires. A Date with the Other Side is the first in a short (3 book) series.

Katie MacAlister has several series under several names. She's also Katie Maxwell and I THINK she has a third one that I am not totally sure of. She writes a LOT of different romances, all of them light-hearted. Because she has so many series, I'm just going to leave her name up.

Candace Havens has several series and quite a few books. Again, I'm just going to leave it at the author's name. But I will admit to not liking ALL of her books. But the preponderance of them I do like.

Lisa Shearin has Magic Lost, Trouble Found series. The Grendel Affair which is supposed to be the first book in a new series, but it's the only one out so far.

And, while I haven't read ALL of the series suggested by others I've read enough of them to generally shake the pompoms. :o) The only one that I DIDN'T like was the Black Dagger Brotherhood books. But I will say right up front, I have some OCD issues, as well as being raised in a family of teachers, and, well, the books were NOT something that you should read if you have either of those issues. I think that Ward has GREAT ideas, but that she can't write worth a darn. But then, the BDB does that--you either love them with all your heart or you think that they are the worst drivel ever written. I've never met (or read a review) by anyone who didn't feel one way or the other.)

Um, have we given you a big enough TBR mountain yet? After all, we ARE all willing to help raise other's TBR piles to the same dimensions as ours. And mine currently is rivaling the Himalayas for size. . .

I just finished the fourth book in "The Firsts Series" by CL Quinn. It is a series about vampires. Forbidden Days is the first book in the series.

The best paranormal romance I ever read is Teale Moon by Vivian Hartley. You can check out my reviews on both books. I can also recommend. The Men Who Stare at Goats not my normal genre but very interesting.

Are you a fan of zombies? If so then Hollowland
By Amanda Hocking is a definite good read. Theres 2 books in the series and they are both good (although i prefer the second)

Im OBSESSED with the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. The first book is
Magic Bites
but there is 6 in the whole series (So far) There is also a few books in the Kate Daniels World that include a few about her best friend Andrea.

(I would also recommend checking out her other series)

Also The Grey Wolves Series by Quinn Loftis is really good. (I think someone has mentioned it) Its got romance, werewolves, hot men, and humor (and im talking Lots and Lots of laughs) what's not to love? First book= Prince of Wolves
