I watched the whole series again a few years back. In terms of its effects and style, it's quite dated, of course. However, it stands up as an introduction to the ideas Sagan was presenting.
It'll be interesting to see what NDT does with it. I'm definitely check it out.
I don't know if Tyson can summon up the (now don't misinterpret this next phrase) near religious experience of Sagan's inspiring words, but I can think of no more deserving successor. He has his own inspiring style with a bit of levity too. I can barely wait.
A good couple of series to tide you over until the next Cosmos series might be the BBC programs Wonders of the Solar System and Wonders of the Universe hosted by Brian Cox. Good stuff.
