He was shaking his head but not saying anything, too weak, tired to argue.

Luke helped the man sit down and brought over a glass of water.
He glanced up but didn't take it. He was in shock, depressed. His baby girl was dead....
"Sir we have to get back to work but just call if you need anything." Luke said slowly leaving
He just gave a small nod, not saying anything. Taylor felt bad but knowing she couldn't do anything followed Luke out.
"And that's why I did not want you to come." He whispers lending against the wall
"We'll figure something out." She said, putting a hand on his shoulder. "The others will find a cure....something. We'll just have to keep trying to keep as many people as we can alive until then... come on, we only have about an hour until we have to go meet my dad. We can check on everyone again before then."
He nodded wiping the hair off his forehead. "Okay." He replies as he started down the hall again. He got back to the sick bay and looked around there was something in the air now. It weight on everyone in the sick bay. Even Blaze looked sad and he probably did not know what was going on. Luke suddenly got the urge to turn away and run. He did not where to he just new he wanted to run. Run away from all this. Run away from that feeling in the air. He took a deep breath to calm himself. This was his job. He started around the bay to check on everyone
((Brave not Blaze ;)))Taylor put a hand on his shoulder for a second, silently saying that she was there for him. She;d be here to help out however she could. She stood there for a second longer after he moved away before moving off herself to check on the others.
((Skip to meeting her dad for dinner?))
((Sure lets skip))Luke was about to leave the med bay heading out for dinner and the big meeting. He stop by Josh bed. "You still are not allow to walk so you will have to ride in a wheel chair." He said nodding at one of the nurse to bring him one
Charlotte pop her head in the med bay, she had been back since she told Josh she had something to do. "Hey guys." She said with a little wave as she waited by the door
"Hey." Taylor said, giving a tiny smile when she saw Charlotte. She was still upset about loosing Raven but was just hoping they could stop this before anyone else died. She hoped her dad would have some ideas."thanks." Josh said to the nurse as she helped him into the wheelchair. His leg hurt but he wanted to go back out into the field as soon as he could.
Charlotte looked past Taylor and saw Josh in the wheelchair and winced. She still took the blame for Rat getting killed and now her best friend was in a wheelchair. Stop it she told herself. It isn't your fault anything could of gone wrong on that mission. She put on her best fake smile for Taylor, Luke, and Josh.Luke pushed Josh's wheelchair up to Charlotte. "Ready for the big meeting?" He ask everyone looking at his friends. His eyes were red and he looked tried but he still gave everyone a grin. "We got to go face down Taylor dad now."
"My dad isn't that scary." Taylor said, again trying to put on a smile. It was small, but real. Although even she didn't look forward to telling him about Raven. "Come on guys." She said, leading the way.
Charlotte walked beside Taylor while Luke was pushing Josh behind them. "I heard what happen today about the little girl and I am sorry." Charlotte whispers to Taylor as they walked
"I feel bad that we couldn't do anything." Taylor sighed. "I don't want anyone else to die. It makes me feel horrible."
"Well next time I go out I will make sure I come back with some good news." Charlotte said feeling helpless to help her friend feel better.
"And when I go out again I'll try the same." Josh said, looking back at them."Thanks guys." she said with a smile as they stopped outside her fathers room, knocking on the door.
Taylor's father Nick open the door. "Ah good you are here." He said letting them in. Inside the room Finn stood. "Hi guys!" Finn said with a quick smile. "Um Mr. Nick ask me here so I had to come." He said pushing up his glasses."Finn!" Luke said with a sudden grin. Today had been horrible but he hasn't seen Finn in ages not since Charlotte and Josh came. Finn got into computer work and was never very seen around the base.
"Hey Dad." Taylor said, giving a small smile to Finn and a quick hug to her father. "I'm guessing you heard about what happened today...." She wanted to get that out of the way first. He probably knew but if he didn't he needed to.Hey." Josh smiled at Finn. He'd become friends with him when he and Charlotte were actually on the base.
Her father nodded sadly. " I heard, I when to go see Raven parents." Finn smiled at them all as Nick when on. "Because of Raven's death all the rebels are in a grieving stage. This is why I need your guys help." He turn to Charlotte. "I am sending you back out in the field." He turn to Luke and Taylor. "I have someone who is going to start working with you. She is a new rebel and will be here any day now." He turn to Finn. "I am sending you out with Charlotte." Then he turn to Josh. "I am sorry Josh but you have to stay here instill your leg heals." Luke blinked at this. A new rebel that could help? That was great news but he looked at Josh and then Charlotte. Was splitting them up a good idea? He seen how they worked together they were good team. Luke glance at Taylor with a raise eyebrow wondering what she thought. Charlotte stared straight ahead not daring to look at Josh as Finn nodded. He would do what Nick needed him to do.
Josh sighed but nodded. He understood. with people dying now from this they needed the cure immediately. He would be useless on a mission with his leg like this. He hated being left behind but knew why. Taylor was glad that they'd be heading out soon for the cure. She felt bad for Josh but they couldn't let anyone else die. And Finn was a good fighter. Had trained her even though she'd skipped most of her lesson's to help Luke. "who's the new rebel?" She asked.
"Her name is June. She is about 25 and she worked with her father who worked on deadly virus before he pass away. She has knowledge that can help." Nick explained then to his daughter. He grab a folder and handed it to Charlotte. "This has your mission in it." She took the folder with a nod
Taylor gave a nod, glad that someone with experience was coming. Maybe she'd be able to find a way to stop this. Taylor didn't want anyone else to die...
Nick looked around the small room at the teenagers who were much older than they should be. "Thank you. I have other things to tend to. But if you have any questions come and see me."
Taylor gave a nod, heading back to the sick bay to see what else she could do tonight.
Charlotte and Finn followed Luke back to the sick bay. Once there Charlotte called out to Taylor. "I see you later Taylor!" She gave a nod to Luke and then turn to Josh. She forces a smile. "Do not worry you will be back on your feet in no time."
"See ya!" Taylor called back to her before going around to see if she could help anyone else. josh gave her a smile. "Good luck out there. And be careful/"
Charlotte shifted from foot to foot. "Oh you know me I am always careful." She said. Suddenly Charlotte did not want to go on this mission. She wanted to stay here beside Josh and forget about the world problems for a few days. She wanted to tell Josh everything that had been brothering her since Rat died on the last mission. But she knew she had work to do. Luke wander around the sick bay going from person to person but pretty much everyone was trying to eat or sleeping. He lend against the wall looking over the sick bay with held back a sigh. He hoped the new rebel came soon. Maybe she could help them.
"I mean it." Josh told her. "Don't try to be a hero. Try to get the cure yes but don't get yourself killed over it if it's imposible to get. Just be safe."Taylor came to stand beside him, looking around too. "Hopefully this will all be over soon.'
Charlotte smiled sadly. "I will Josh. I cant promise anything but I will try to make it back to the base. To you. I will try.""Do you think the rebels will win this war? I mean looked at us. They beat us back with a deadly virus. Who has a deadly virus? What do they have? I believe that one day we can win the war but it wont be in our life times." He sighed looking at her. "If this new rebel can make a difference what then?" He ask her
Brave was in there with them, whining. He didn't want her to go either."Then maybe we will be closer to making a difference. that's all we can hope for. And we are a threat to them. They wouldn't have released this virus otherwise. We'll figure this out. we just have to hope she can help."
Charlotte bend down and rubbed Brave head. "You take care of Josh for me okay? Trouble tends to follow him around." She petted the dog before standing. She gave Josh a quick hug before heading out with FinnLuke nodded. "You right. Everyone is fine for tonight. We should get some rest."
He have a small bark, wagging his tail a bit, staying by Josh. "See ya." Josh said, watching them go. "Good luck.""I'll see you in the morning then." she said as she headed to her room. The same one she'd gotten when she first came here last year. She had never wanted to change to a larger the room. The small one was just fine with her.
Luke watched her go before heading over to Josh. "You ready for bed?" He ask. He looked at the door again with a sigh. "Life sure has changed. I can not believe you like Charlotte. Remember how you guys hated each other." Luke laughed a little as he shook his head. "And now you are like head over heels for her." He teased his friend. It felt good to tease someone, it felt normal
Josh also gave a bit of a laugh at that. Luke was one of the few people he'd told about how he felt about Charlotte. "A year sure can change things huh? And all when we met Brave." He scratched the dog behind the ears. "And what about you and Taylor? I seem to remember she didn't like you much at first either. Now you like her and you two work together everyday."
Luke grin a little more. "Taylor is amazing to work with and I am glad I met her." Luke bend down to pet Brave. "What about you brave? You got anyone in your life?" ((Okay Question, Should the new rebel be any help to them? And should Charlotte and Finn's mission go all wrong or what?))
((I say somewhat? Maybe a few people get better but more keep dying. That's when Taylor gets sick? and maybeish? Let them get in trouble but still find the cure?))Brave just barked, wagging his tail. They were his family. All the rebels to an extent but mainly those four.
((I like those ideas. Charlotte or Finn could get shot or something. If we wanted we could make one gets capture and one brings back the cure))Luke laughed a little then yawned. "I should be getting to bed."
((Yeah!))"alright. Night." Josh told him. "I'll see you tomorrow."
((Awesome! And skip to the Moring?))Luke gave one last smiled before going off to his room right down the hall
((Yep))Luke got up early and ate a quick breakfast before heading down the med bay. Everyone was still asleep so he tip toe through the patients.
Charlotte and Finn were on their mission before day break and wouldn't be back instill a few days, a week at the most.
Taylor showed up not that much later, skipping breakfast. "Hey." she greeted him with a small smile before starting off to work as well
"Hi, how did you sleep?" He ask as he check all the patients blood pressures.
"Alright. no different than usual at least. you?" She asked as she was checking other things, like everyone's temperature. When she came to one of them she frowned a bit. Their temperature was high. Really high, a lot higher than the day before. "Luke?" she called him over, worried. No. They couldn't lose someone else.
Luke heard something in her voice and rushed over. "What??" He ask looking over the patient it was a middle age man who was a hacker.
She told him what she'd seen, hoping that since he had more experience, even if she'd been helping for over a year now, he would know what to do.
"Okay we got to try to get that temperature done. We need wash clothes and if we have any aspirins to spare we also need that." He said checking over the hacker. He now remember his name, it was Mr. Brown. "Mr. Brown I need to stay awake." He said as Mr. Brown slowly blinked his eyes
They were getting low on aspirin but Taylor still brought over a couple. They were hard to come by in the worse parts of town where most of the rebels had grown up and so on supply runs up top they were always grabbed if they were seen. Otherwise you had to go to the better parts of town, so sometimes Josh had picked some up while he was up there. After giving him the aspirin Taylor went to get a few cold, wet washcloths.
