Elizabeth and Cera (Yes this is mostly likely not the last)
"Drink this. It will dull pain plus it taste good." He said grinning. It didn't taste good. Infact it was Whiskey. "After you drink that bite down on this." He said handing his a piece of leather. He would put him to sleep but they didn't have that medicine. "I am going to cut your leg open so I can get the bullet. Then come stitches. ready?"She nods watching Josh and Luke. "How do you check for that?" She ask still keeping her eyes on the guys
He took the drink that that Luke offered him, chocking a bit at the strong taste. "What the hell was that?" He asked, his voice a bit raw."We just need to ask a few simple questions, and a few simple tests. Have you been feeling sick at all? Vomiting?" She asked as she took a flashlight, shinning it into Charlotte's eyes.
"Whiskey stolen it from my aunt." He said still grinning. Charlotte blinked at the light as she shook her head. "I felt dizzy probably for an whole hour but then nothing." She said
He shook his head, still trying to rid himself of the taste. "I think you need a new definition of what tastes good." He said as he took the leather, biting down hard on it. He was nervous about what Luke was about to do but he trusted him....All the same he squeezed his eyes shut, not wanting to watch. Her eyes were reacting okay and being dizzy was normal. It didn't seem like she had any of the symptoms of a concussion that Luke had taught her. "okay. Well I think you might be okay then. Just take it easy for a day or two to be sure."
He patted his friend's arm twice before cutting open the pant leg and pouring some of the whiskey on it to wash and clean the wound. He took a deep breath as he got the small knife and cut his leg open where the bullet was. He could see the bullet. He slowly took the bullet out making sure he didn't Josh. Soon the bullet was out and he clean the wound. "Now time for the stitches" Charlotte smiled as she nods. "I will try to take it easy but I can not promise anything" She wanted to get out again and stir up some trouble.
Even with the whisky it still hurt like hell. Josh was biting down hard on the leather strap, clenching his teeth and letting out a cry as Luke got the bullet out of him. His heart was wounding and he was breathing hard by the time it was over. Stiches couldn't hurt as much as that right?Taylor frowned at her. "Please be careful at least....you're my friend. I don't like seeing you guys get hurt."
Luke got the needle and string. "Hold on." He whispers as he started the stitches.Charlotte gave a nod. "You know me I am always careful." She said but there was a hint of bitterness in her tone. She gave another smile brushing it off. "How things here? Any better on the virus?" She ask changing the topic
Taylor sighed at Charlotte's question, giving a bit of a shrug. "No one's died yet so that's a plus but no one's getting any better either." She was speaking quietly, not wanting to disturb the rest of those in the infirmary. "Luke and I can't figure out what to do about this. We're trying to help them but..." She shook her head.
"I need to get back in the field and try to find if the government have a cure." She said with a look of sadness as she looked over the infirmary. She placed a hand on her shoulder. "You doing all you can. We will get a cure." She said "Done!" Luke said as he held up his hands. "You should walk on the leg for a half of day thought." He said standing up
((Guessing shouldn't?))"Thank you." She said, her shoulders slumping a bit. "Just be careful. I don't want you and Josh to get killed..." They were both her friends. She didn't want to see anyone at the base die.....but considering it was a rebellion it was inevitable. "When are you guys heading back out?"
Josh nodded, pushing himself up into a bit more of a sitting position. "thanks." He said, letting out a breath, That had hurt like hell but he was alive.
((Yep))"I am going to talk to your father and see if we can go out tomorrow of the day after." She said running a hand through her hair shaking it out. "I know it soon but we need to get out again." She lower her voice so Luke and Josh couldn't hear. "Don't tell Josh but I may leave ask your father if he can stay behind for the next mission. I cant have him getting hurt again."
"I need to go wash up but I be right back." He said running over to the sink
Taylor frowned a bit at that, "Josh won't agree to that. You know he won't. I know he;s injured. Probably shouldn't go out, but he'll want to."
Charlotte nods. "I know he will but his leg will just slow me down." She said knowing that wasn't the only reason she didn't want him to come. She did blame herself for what happen to Rat and she couldn't live with herself if Josh got badly hurt.
"It's too dangerous to go out there alone. I know my dad will probably tell you the same thing." Taylor really. Really didn't want Charlotte to go back into the government HQ alone.
"Then I will get a someone else to come." She said thought she didn't like that idea at all
Taylor sighed, rubbing her forehead. Why was Charlotte so stubborn? At least she wasn't planning on going alone any more but....
Luke came back. "Taylor I got a few more patients to look up. You can help if you want. Your dad sent a massager and he said he will meet up with us at dinner." He turned to Josh and Charlotte. "Josh you have to stay here but Charlotte you are free."
Josh sighed but nodded, he wanted to go out as much as Charlotte did. Wanted to help.Taylor nodded. "I'll stay. Help you where I can. Did the messenger say anything else?" Her relationship with her father had improved over the last year. She had forgiven him for leaving her and her mother, understanding better now how important the rebellion was.
Luke shook his head. "Nope, he just told me that and ran off. Other messages to send I guess." He said with one last nod at Josh and Charlotte before heading over to a patient. Charlotte bites her lip debating staying with Josh or leaving. She looked at Josh and nudge his shoulder a little. "You should get some sleep."
"Yeah." Josh sighed, glancing up at her. "You know...even with this I can't wait to head back out again."A few hours until that then. She went to help a couple of the other patients. She did hope that they could find the cure. So far no one had died but there were many not doing good.

((Yea that a good idea))Charlotte glance away biting her lip. She force a smile on her lips before turning back. "I know you do." She said but couldn't hold back a sigh
Luke started his rounds in the front of the room checking and talking with some patients.
((That little girl they were talking too earlier?))"What's wrong?" Josh asked, frowning a bit at her sigh. "Taylor said everything was okay for you right?"
Taylor started on the other side of the room Checking on the patients, helping where she could. She really hoped that they;d be able to do something....
((Sure that works))"No everything fine with me." She said placing a hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry about me."
Luke finished with his patients and start towards where Taylor is. "Every one okay over here?" He ask
"no change so far." Taylor reported, glancing up at him as he came over. "I still have a couple more to check on.""You're one of my best friends. Of course I'm going to worry..."
"I will help you finish then. You check on Raven again?" He ask worried for the little girlShe smiled at him this time it was force. "And you are my second best friend. The dog beats you in that." She said winking at Brave who was curl up on her feet. "I will be fine it just........." She bites her lip, she want to tell Josh how she felt about Rat and how she didn't want him to come along with her. But she knew he will just argue and tell her it wasn't her fault. So instead she sighed and patted his shoulder once more before standing up. "Get some sleep Josh" she said softly before stepped over Brave and heading out of the room
She nodded, heading over to the bedside of the little girl. She was worried as well. "Hey Raven." She said, bending down near her. "How you feeling?" She wished there was something that her and Luke could do. Maybe if they kept trying they'd figure out the cure on their own but she just didn't know..."See ya latter then he sighed. rave lifted his head up, whining as charlotte left. He wasn't sure whether he should go with her or stay with Josh. He gave a quite bark, wanting her to come back.
Raven's breathing was low and suddenly she was coughing. "Taylor..... I cant make it much longer." She said softly. Charlotte looked back at the bark and shook her head at the dog telling him to stay with Josh before leaving
Taylor's heart began to pound a bit. Some of the patients had been coughing since the beginning but this was different. And she could tell Raven was even weaker than before. "luke!" She called as she glanced up, her expression saying he needed to be over there nowBrave whined a bit more as he laid his head down on his paws, staying by Josh's bed.
Luke race over as soon as he heard his name. "What wrong?" He ask as he glance at Taylor before focusing on Raven. "Everything hurts." Raven murmur as she drew another breath which was shaky. Luke looked at Taylor. "Get me some pain meds and wash clothe." He felt her forehead. She was burning up. He started to check her for any other problems
Taylor gave a nod, rushing off to get what he needed. Raven would be okay...she had to be okay.... She grabbed a small cup and the medicine that Raven would need, the washcloths next to them. "Here." she said coming back over to him, handing him the things.
He couldn't find anything wrong. He wiped her forehead with the washcloth then her face. "Here take this." He said giving her the medicine. Raven turn her face upwards. "Do not use that on me." She whispers before coughing. Then she stopped breathing all together. Luke just stared, his mind couldn't catch up what was happening.
"No no no.." Taylor was whispering. This couldn't be happening.... Her hands were clenching by her sides. She felt horrible that they hadn't been able to do anything. Cursing, she stood and walked out of the room, kicking the wall of hallway once she was out. "Damn it!" she was mad, upset at herself, at everything about this.
Luke had sat down in the chair beside Raven's bed. He had failed. He couldn't fight the virus like this. Hopelessness weighted on him. He glance at Raven without meaning to and tears appear in his vision. He slowly got up and pulled the blanket over Raven. "Rest in peace." He murmurs.
There had to be something they could do. Some way to stop this. They had to find the cure. She couldn't let anyone else die because of this. She took a minute to take a breath, calm down before heading back in to the room.
Luke looked up as Taylor came back in, his eyes were red from unshed tears but he just nodded at her. He called a nurse over and told her to prepare to burn the body. They couldn't bury her since they were underground and going topside was dangerous.
She gave him a small nod in return, trying to hold back her own tears. Raven was so young. She didn't deserve this. How were they going to tell her family that the little girl was dead? "Do you want to tell them or me?" She asked him quietly as she came over, her arms crossed in front of her, worried.
"I will tell you, you aren't a doctor. You shouldn't have to face that." He replies bushing his bangs off his forehead as he try to get ready for what he was about to do. This was going to be hard, he suddenly wished for his father. He would know what to do.
"I'll come with you. I want to be there with you. I've been helping you in here for over a year now..."
Luke sighed. "Fine you can come." He ran a hand down his face, feeling old. "Lets go now but remember they can not see the body. We do not know how people get the disease." He added sadly
She gave a nod, feeling horrible about losing someone so young to this. It made her hate the government even more. "Let's go...." She said quietly.
He nodded and lead the way to the Raven's parents room. Raven parents were chiefs and should be on break.
Taylor hesitated a moment before knocking on the door, it was only a few moments until it opened, Raven's father standing there. He frowned when he saw the two of them. "Is something wrong?" Taylor didn't know what to say. This wasn't fair. Any of it.
Luke glance at the wall like it would help him before squaring his shoulders. This had to be done and it was his duty. "Sir, may we come in? It may be easier to hear this sitting down." He said
He was still frowning but nodded, opening the door to let them in and moving to the bed sitting down on it. "My wife isn't here right now...what's going on?"
"Sir, it is about your daughter Raven.." He took a deep breath before saying. "She passed away."
He shot to his feet, not believing. "what....no. she can't be. I have to go see her. You're wrong. she's fine...." He was moving towards the door but Taylor quickly got up to block it. "I'm sorry sir....but we can't let you see her. We don't know how it spreads and you can get sick as well..."
"I don't care!" He shouted, tears starting to run down his cheeks. "I just want to see my baby again..."
Luke felt his own eyes tear up. He stood up and spoke in a quite voice. "I am sorry sir, but your daughter would not want you to get sick just to see her body. You have to keep living so that we can destroy the people who started this whole mess."
He was shaking his head, his voice choked as he spoke. "she was just a kid....she didn't deserve this....please....let me see her one more time...."
"I can not sir you could endanger everyone." Luke said looking away
"Hey." Taylor said, also giving her a small smile in return. "You said you hit your head right? I'm just going to make sure you don't have a concussion. "
