Drake was at ski-ball, the only thing he could play without the game fizzing out and exploding or something.
Not wanting to draw attention to herself, Selene slunk into the shadows to watch the others play the games.
Drake accidentally charged the ball he was holding, and the game overloaded and froze. He sighed, moving away from it.
Selene's directed her attention to the exploding skee ball game. That was odd...
Drake looked at it and sighed. The manager came and growled angrily at him, until he gave him a sack of coins to replace the game. "Money food money..." he murmured, sighing.
Selene cocked her head in interest. Must be a son of Jupiter...
Drake sighed and moved to the entrance, his gold hair and eyes gleaming in the lights as he walked, deciding to go somewhere he wouldn't accidentally blow stuff up.
Selene held tight to the shadows as she followed the boy. He was interesting to watch.
Drake felt a strange tingle in the back of his head, but knew that it would disappear when he got outside, since no one would be behind him anymore. He stepped outside of the door.
Selene melted into the shadows, and reappeared in an alley outside, across the street from the arcade. She watched as the boy stepped out into the sunlight.
Selene jumped from shadow to shadow to watch him go, wondering where he was going. Eventually, she began to tire from the consistent shadow traveling, and had to follow on foot.
Drake noticed a familiar presence, and wondered if he was being followed. Probably not. He was traveling on a main road. It wouldn't be unusual. He turned off of it eventually, still wandering.
Selene continued to follow him, careful to stay a good distance away. Where is he going?
Drake turned onto into a graveyard, deciding to visit his mom. He didn't have anything better to do, he supposed.
Lily noticed the strange boy come in and walk to the same grave he always did she came there for her sis Emily she had thought about saying but she decided not to.
((Sorry! My comment didn't post))
Selene followed him to the graveyard and hid behind a tombstone.
Selene followed him to the graveyard and hid behind a tombstone.
Drake stopped in front of his mom's grave and sat down, yawning softly. "Hey, ma'" he said, looking at the picture frame he'd left in front of it.
Selene's eyes flickered between the two people. She felt a twinge of guilt as she saw Drake. After all, it was her father that had taken his mother.
"So, how's it going down there? You having fun in Elysium?" Drake asked the picture, still smiling. He wasn't sure why, but he was. He just wanted to be here, for once.
Selene rested her cheek on the side of the tombstone, still watching. There was a reason children of Pluto weren't like so much... this was why.
"Well, hope it's nice down there, anyway. I'm doing fine, I guess. It's nice here, but I told you this already, huh? It's been, what, ten years?" Drake asked the tombstone.
Ten years was a long time to be without a mother, and he had many more years to come. Selene wondered if she should come out, say something perhaps?
"So, anyway, I killed that sphinx that I told you about a while ago, by the way. Found it again last year. To bad it reformed. But I killed it again, and blew the ashes away. So, you know, vengeance and all that," Drake said, laughing. "It's been a long time, hasn't it? Since I visited. A year or two, huh?" he asked, sighing. "Sorry..."
Selene swallowed, took a breath, and stood up. She began walking towards him, his back turned to her.
"I'm sorry about your mother." She said softly.
"I'm sorry about your mother." She said softly.
"I knew somebody was there. Felt your brain activity," Drake said, sadly. "Don't be. It's not your fault. I mean, unless you're one of the monsters that attacked us. Which would be weird, because I killed them."
Selene shook her head, "Not a monster. The daughter of the god of the dead? Yes."
"Ah. You know, most people would blame you. Me?" Drake started, shrugging. "It's not like you, personally killed my mother. My father even let me know that my mom was put in Elysium. So, hey, your dad wasn't unfair, at least. So why should you be sorry?" he asked, still not looking back. Gods, he wished he had alcohol right now. Except he was underage...
"Sorry as in sympathy." Selene clarified.
"I'm not sure that's what you meant at first. Children of Pluto are generally blamed for deaths, right? I'm saying that I don't blame you. But, even so, thanks," Drake said, wiping the glass on the picture with his shirt.
She nodded, "Thanks for not blaming me." She said, looking down at the picture, "How did you lose her?"
"Oh," She said softly, "was she a half-blood?"
"No," Drake replied. "I dragged her here. I was trying to get away," he explained, putting the frame down.
Selene looked down at her hands, unsure of what to say. What do you say to someone who lost their mother in such a terrible way?
"So, who are you?" Drake asked, standing up. He still hadn't faced her, for good reason. He wiped his eyes quickly, sighing.
"Selene." She said, "And you?"
"Drake," he replied, turning to face her. "Hello," he said, smiling and putting his hand out, ignoring the ache in his chest.
"Nice to meet you," Selene said, reaching and shaking his hand, letting a small smile appear on her face.
((Night. Sleepy...))Drake took his hand back and nodded. "So, why did you follow me? Did I seem interesting?" he asked, wanting to know. He wasn't angry at all.
((G'night))
She shrugged, "You electrified an arcade game, that's fairly interesting."
She shrugged, "You electrified an arcade game, that's fairly interesting."
"It is, isn't it?" he asked, laughing softly. "But you're lucky I didn't electrify you. If I was more paranoid, and I felt you behind me again, bam! But I'm not, so I didn't," he added, smiling.
She chuckled, "Lucky for me. Plus, I don't think my father would be fairly pleased that his brother's son tried to kill me."
