Dwayne and Trudy Tuttle--A Missed Opportunity?

I don't know if you remember these two characters but I sure do! I thought these two (who were introduced as people from Australia and turned out were pretending to be different around the GC and were actually from Oklahoma) really stood out in this book. They were a couple that loved each other, were even funny, and they had their own strengths that made a great impression on me.

I was so sad to find out that they had been killed off before the book ended. Why kill off such well-crafted people? Do you think the writers may have made a mistake here? The strangest thing I also wondered was do you think they could have been spun-off onto another book series? (Yes I liked them that much!)

I honestly don't think they made a mistake. Not only did lots of good characters die, but the main characters are the ones who lasted from start to finish.
