Correction?

I believe I know the reason for the change, but still wanted to ask and see what kind of responce I get.

I am reading Watchers by Dean Koontz the Berkly edition / April 1988. In this version near the start of the book Travis feeds the dog chocolate, a Hershey's bar. In the newer versions Travis feeds the dog a peanut bar from Planters.

Is Chocolate harmful to dogs?

Chocolate is supposed to be poisonous to dogs!

Yes, I read the dutch translation and when I came to the part in witch he fed the dog chocolate I was thinking: 'not so very healty to give to a dog!!!'
