Rebekkah Ford | 6 comments Hi. I need your help please. I have a book that will be coming out in the fall, and I would like to add the cover to Goodreads to help promote it before it's published. I don't have an ISBN yet. Can I still add the cover, like to do a giveaway or whatever? If so, how would I do that?
Thanks!
Rebekkah

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Rebekkah, you can add a record for a book which doesn't have an ISBN yet just like you create a record for any book; just add what information you have so far. It helps to put a publication date in the future even if that date is still somewhat uncertain so that the record shows as "expected publication" instead of "published". When an ISBN is available, you can add it to the record, or if a new record is created for that ISBN before you do that then your placeholder record can be merged into the record with the ISBN later.

(You could also add a record for a book which will never have an ISBN, but that's a different situation. I just wanted to mention it to be thorough.)

To list a giveaway you will need an ISBN. If you don't have one yet, use the Contact Us link on the Help page and they can help you with setting up the giveaway.

Rebekkah Ford | 6 comments Hey Cait, I thought of another question. Once I do get an ISBN for my book, how do I add it?

Thanks!

Rebekkah Ford | 6 comments It's me again. LOL. I made an ooops. I added The Devil's Third, which is great, however, it's been added twice. Can you delete the one that doesn't have a rating on it? Pleeease.

Thanks!

Rebekkah Ford | 6 comments Awesome! You rock! Thanks! :D What does 6 mean? Just curious. You wrote it before the word "done."
