Bryce smirked a little as he listened to the music fluxuate in volume. Jake... Actually, he was pretty excited for this. It would be fun. I mean, they weren't gladiators or anything. Bryce wouldn't hurt him... Not on purpose anyway. "Ready," he murmured, letting his fingers run off the side of the table and then sticking them in his pockets.

( Can you be the announcer?)
Wandered around his room for a moment longer, surprisingly not too stressed - big thank you to his control of emotions. After a while, he figured out the button-and-elevator system, just at the right time. On his way up he could hear the announcer through the speaker systems in the little stall.
"Good evening ladies and gentlemen," the voice throbbed like bass in every corner of the building. "Welcome to the Victory Hill annual tournment! Up first on today's agenda we have our incredible manipulators. On the left is Jake Windslow, sound manipulator!" The elevator shuddered a little as it came to a stop and the doors slid open to allow Bryce access to his point. "And on the right we have newbie Bryce Conway! Chemistry manipulator!"

Needless to say, this took him completely off guard. Out of instinct, the ground Bryce was standing on shifted into something reminiscent of Jell-O, and nearly put him off balance in an attempt to nullify the vibration's effect. As soon as the sounds was clear, Bryce gave Jake a small, almost apologetic smile before letting a glowing sphere of blue energy suddenly develop around the other boy like a cage.

Bryce let out a breath and tried again. He took off his shirt and dropped it onto the floor, where it grew and shifted into massive snake. The creature wouldn't hurt Jake, no, but curled around his legs to bind him together.

Because of course, that was how snakes heard things - through vibrations in the ground. It hissed and writhed, suddenly unlooping from around Jake and reverting back into an innocent tshirt again. But then, just as it was back into it's original form, Bryce concentrated again and watched as it turned into a neon green blob of goo. It stuck onto Jake's feet not unlike the snake had, and began to envelop him in a sticky, plasmic matter.

Immediately Bryce's face contorted and his hands flew to his ears to try and block out the sound.
The goo shuddered and then liquidized, leaving nothing but a mucusy film on Jake's skin and clothing.

His powers seemed to have switched into self-preservation mode. He flew back and landed on the ground, which had shifted into a mattress to accommodate his landing. Nevertheless, he landed with an 'umph'. Bryce shook his head quickly, trying to clear a sudden blurriness from his vision. It was like what had happened the day of his testing... But not quite so bad yet. He redirected his focus to Jake and made the ground beneath him shiver. Eventually it changed into water beneath Jake's feet.

Bryce gasped and again, his hands pressed themselves to his ears as he dropped to his knees. The ground hardened back to it's usual state underneath Jake's feet as he lost his focus.

Jake felt terrible, but he's always wanted to see New Zeland, that's where his family came from and always wanted to go there. With one last deep breath he prepared one last sound wave.
Bryce was up faster than thought possible, considering how hard he was just hit. His power's reflexes took over, for better or for worse, and before he knew it Bryce's hand was latched firmly onto Jake's wrist. It was simple manouver, and one he really wasn't conscious of, but it worked somehow.
As soon as the deed was done, Bryce drew his hand back and blinked feverishly. Why had he touched Jake? Why was he all the way across the ring? Why... Did his head hurt so much...?
Bryce had attacked the other boy with an alkaline poison by touching him. It would paralize Jake immediately, but only temperarily.

The sand and dust from around the stadium was already gathering around Bryce's feet. Faster than anyone could register, the sand had crawled up it's master's skin and melted, becoming a sarcophagus soundproof glass. The wave bounced off it harmlessly.

Bryce gasped in air as the glass fell off him. He blinked hazily around the ring, shaking his head to try and stay awake. What had happened? When he saw Jake collased on the ground, he was beside him a matter of moments. "Hey, hey Jake," he said, feeling awful he had caused this. "You okay?"

Bryce smiled in relief and shook his head as he helped him up. "No, not at all. I didn't think sound was so... As you say, intense." He paused. "Good game Jake." He meant it.

Bryce nodded and stood back. "All right, thank you. Who am I up against next?" Good thing the buzzing in his ears had faded away now he had more challenges on the agenda.

"Huh?" Bryce looked over, a little distracted from watching himself on the tv. "Ty? What're his powers?" He stepped over to look at the chart as well.

Bryce bit his lip. Oh. That sounded difficult. "Ah." He turned again when Jake looked back to the screen. "Not too bad yourself. That was more fun than I thought it would be."

Bryce was quiet for a minute or so. God he had never wanted anything this bad before... "I've never really accepted being a meta until yesterday. I haven't purposely used my powers since I got into Victory Hill. I don't know I even got a shot at it."

The corner of Bryce's lips turned up a little in a shy, but hopeful smile. "You think so?" He said quietly.

He took it gratefully. Bryce hadn't been the only one to let loose in the ring. "Is this legal?" The top popped off and he paused before drinking, giving Jake a raised eyebrow as he waited for an answer.

Bryce shook his head quickly and took a drink from the vial. "No, no. Healing is definately good right now. Thank you Jake."

Bryce gave a small, unnoticable huff of a laugh and nodded, giving him a quick hug. "Wouldn't leave you hanging." He said with a smirk, and then let go; retreating to the elevator. "Wish me luck?"

"Well I'm going to try." He gave Jake a truer (but still somewhat robotic) smile and then stepped into the elevator. "You're going to watch?"

Bryce just nodded, thankful for the information, before the elevator shot him up to the ring again.

Bryce stared at the guy on the other side blankly for a moment, completely not getting this whole 'battle field' banter. To him it was, shake your hand, good luck - break for game - then shake your hand good game. Nevertheless, he smiled and nodded. "May... The best man win." He hesitated a little since he was quoting a movie he had seen a while ago. It seemed to fit the situation. He glanced around, as if waited for a whistle or a bell or something.

Oh, so there would be no bell or whistle or something. Bryce didn't move, although the stone figure terrified the hell out of him. As soon as it got close enough it was within his power's perameters, he focused on it and watched as it suddenly began to slip to the floor as a mass of sand. Sand which, in turn, began to gravitate towards Ty. It began to crawl up his legs, clinging heavily.
