Bryce listened quietly, his gaze steady on Julian. He had never thought anything good could come of his powers... So far they had been just a serious problem in his life. "Thank you Julian." The response was kind of robotic, as if that was what he was programmed to say, but it wasn't what he wanted to reply with. "I will keep that in mind."

Bryce was silent for a while, and then he let out a breath. "May I ask you a question?" He said, looking over with hesitant curiosity.
"Have..." Bryce hesitated again, wondering how to approach the question. "Have you ever missed the outside? Beyond Victory Hill?"

Bryce nearly stopped in his tracks. "Really?" He said, only letting the surprise show the little he couldn't contain. "I didn't know that. How do you know which you are?"

Bryce, a small and unreadable frown on his face, nodded slightly. "I see. I'll have to make sure to check it." A very soldier-like response to something that would usually have inspired visible emotion on someone. "Thank you for telling me."

Bryce was silent for a while, but the took another breath as he looked back over at him. "Did you leave anyone behind, Julian?" He suddenly asked, maybe a little out of his discreet line.

"... Oh." The sound that came out of Bryce in response wasn't a bad one. Just simple and small. "I suppose you found a good home here, then."

Bryce just nodded, his mind changing tracks a little. "I... I think I could be happy here." He said after a long moment. He said it almost a little too quickly, as if he just wanted to get it out before he thought twice.

"Yes," Bruce stopped and gave Julian a small smile. "Thank you for the words of wisdom Julian. I'll see you tomorrow then?"

Bryce's eyebrows raised a little. "Oh, I see. Alright. Thank you. I'll see you tomorrow then. Thank you for the walk." He waved slightly, then turned and started back to his house.
Geeze... Why did he have to be so contained around him? It was impossible to be anything else... Considering he had hidden his personality for his entire life so far. He just wanted to be close to Julian... Was that too much to ask for? Maybe.
Sighing when his Wonderland of a home came into view, Bryce just froze the gargoyle stone so it didn't roar all night and left the rest for the morning. He was too tired to deal with it now.

Bryce found his way to the dining hall easily enough. He wandered through the crowd, as usual not meeting up with anyone immediately.

Bryce nearly jumped out of his skin. To anyone looking at him however, it seemed as if disembodied voices was something he encountered regularily. That was how well contained he was. He nodded simply and started over. "Thank you Jake." He was at the table in a couple moments.

"I guess so," Bryce slid into the seat next to Jake, giving him a nice smile. "I've never been in one before... Everyone seems pretty excited as well." He said, glancing around at the others in the hall.

Bryce grinned and nodded. "Yeah, that'll be fun." He said. "I don't know how well that will work..."

Bryce smirked. "Ah, not what I meant," he said. "I don't know what chemistry can do against sound... I guess we'll find out."

Bryce smiled again and shrugged. "Likewise." He drummed his fingers on the table. "When does the tournament start? Do you know?"

"Oh Danny," Bryce's eyebrows raised a little. He was curious what that guy's powers were. "Wow... Yeah, that'll be interesting. People can watch us then?"

"Uhm, can I tag along?" Bryce hesitated before getting up, wanting permission first. He didn't want to head in alone.

"Well, B-1's got to be only nine letters and one number before that right? Drop me off there." He gave a small smirk and took the apple gratefully. "Thanks." Damn it he had forgotten to eat breakfast after all that.

Bryce nodded and laid his hand on the door handle. "Of course not," he said, shaking his head. "I wasn't planning on it. Best of luck?" He held his hand out for shaking.

Too bad he hadn't paid more attention in chemistry. Bryce walked inside and peered at the table, mouthing the names of the elements with a perplexed frown. He supposed they would call him up when the time came?
