The dummies were decreasing in numbers, and soon only one was left. Bryce gave it his full attention, and then suddenly it vanished into a puff of Neon smoke.

Bryce gave the man a small smile and nodded. "Thank you sir. It wasn't that difficult." It really hadn't been. It had all come so naturally he didn't even need to think about it.

"Uhm..." He really had no clue. "I really don't know sir. Which ever you think I should begin with would be fine with me."

"Uh... Uh..." Bryce stood there uncertainly, looking around the palace in a little spin of panic. He was doing what? "Uh, okay..." He started towards the front of the palace hesitantly, climbing up the steps with the expression of someone who was lost.
Within a few moments, a guard came walking around the corner. As soon as their gazes collided, the hologram of a man disintegrated into ashes. Oooohkay...

((Sweet. Should I make it take him down so he can't complete the objective?))
Bryce kept walking. Where was he going exactly? He didn't know, but he supposed it didn't really matter. He was pretty confident his powers were strong enough to let him walk around without much trouble.
A few guards who tried to stop him stiffened into stone as he walked by, but no matter. He kept walking, until all of a sudden he started to swoon. His vision began to swim in a swirl of color that faded to imaginary fireworks in the back of his eyes. He caught himself on a wall and slid down to the floor. Ouch...

Only after a moment the dizziness past and Bryce climbed back onto his feet again. That was weird. He kelt wandering until the hallway he had been following stopped short at a locked door. He disintigrated the door handle and then pushed through, the guard disappearing into puffs of colorful smoke. Then the dizziness hit him again, but he shook it off as he coughed into his sleeve... He felt like crap... So tired...
But then banging came from a trap door underneath the carpet and he pulled it back quickly. He had found the hostages.

Bryce didn't respond. His eyesight was fading again, a loud ringing making his head spin. He fell against the wall of the room and slid down to the floor breathing heavily.

Bryce was out of it. His head lolled to the side and his breath was hardly anything more than a flutter in his chest. Vaguely he could hear the shouting, but it meant nothing at this point.

It took a few moments for him to heal, moments where Bryce was silent as if he had completely disappeared from life.
Then suddenly his eyes shot open and he took a deep breath, his chest rising under her hands. Letting it out, Bryce gave a small, hoarse cough and looked over between Rachael and Arthur. "Hello miss Rachael."

"I - " He paused to cough again, turning his head to the side as he turned onto his side away from her. "I'm sorry... I just blacked out..."

"Yaaaay." He breathed, his breath a little strained still. Somehow he managed a small smile, however, and let go of Arthur to hold a hand to his slowly immobilizing head. "Orange class is good?"
"Oh good." Bryce smiled a little and nodded understandingly. "I'm good at being second." Which was true, no matter how hard his parents pushed him to be first. Sometimes he purposely came in second, just to lower their expectations. "So... This is the end of the test then, sir?"

Bryce nodded, waving hesitantly back. Usually he shook hands... What was this? "All right sir, thank you." Turning, he left out through the door and started down the steps outside the building.

Bryce didn't notice him for several long moments, and he nearly walked by before his form caught in his vision. Who was that? When he recognized Julian, his heart did a little somersault and he gulped - annoyed at his reaction to another person. Should he go talk to him? Maybe? Just try? He was good at talking to people, so he walked over. "Hello." The word was polite and simple on his tongue, but a little warmer than usual.

Bryce clasped his hands behind his back like the little soldier he was, and looked down at Julian with his head cocked to the side - not unlike a curious puppy. "Hello Julian. What are you doing?"

"Sounds nice." Bryce smiled a little in that plain, flickering way he had. "Would... Would you mind if I joined you? I don't really feel like wandering around my empty house any longer."

Bryce folded his knees underneath him and sat down on the grass cross-legged, as proffered. "Thank you."

Bruce nodded, watching the shadow with interest. "Me too," he saidnafter a moment, eyes unwavering from their subject. "My birthday's in October, so in a few months I'll be seventeen..." He really wanted to touch it, see what would happen.

"I'd like to," Bryce replied, jumping as the shadow piece landed in his lap. He poked it curiously. "But I still have to talk to Sam about it. I haven't had much tims to lately, so."

Bryce smiled a little and nodded. "Must be nice to have a friend like that." He never had a friend that was beyond a study partner.

( I think Bryce should make a move that Julian is clueless about :P)
Bryce shrugged, then studied Julian for a long moment. God did he feel lonely all of a sudden... "Sam's lucky to have you so close... Wish I could have someone like that even half as good as..." Half as good as you. But he didn't finish, and just trailed off instead.
