I think we can all suspend our disbelief, but sometimes you wonder how stuff like a man becoming living sand, or how a man who can shrink his body to the size of an ant in one moment and expand himself to 30 feet in height in another can be plausible.

What are your thoughts on this?

I found these articles if you'd like to read them:

Are some comic book storylines more scientifically sound than others?

Well, I will try to read these articles when I get caught up on my review books and weigh in.

new_user Well, from what little I've seen, they're not plausible/scientifically accurate at all, but that's kind of a downer, LOL. It's a big challenge to write around superpowered characters though. I have seen educational comic books though! And I'm sure there are authors that make more of an effort to maintain some kind of accuracy...

I think that's part of the magic of comic books, the suspension of belief. I don't think there's a good record of scientific accuaracy in comic books. More a formula that says, if we set new rules around this guy and stick to them accurately, that will suffice for scientific accuracy.

I think Sheldon sums it up best.

Terri (terrilovescrows) | 10 comments Doesn't matter to me. Enjoying comic books relies on the ability to suspend disbelief and just enjoy
