It really depends on what the rat looks like to me. I like rats with themed names (as in, their cage mates have names that come from the same theme). I've seen Dr. Seuss and Watership Down themes before. Very cute.
I don't really have a theme. I try not to pick too long names, and stick to those that are reasonably easy to spell, otherwise it's just trouble in the vet forms and such. My current ones, still quite little, are called Kieran (b/c he's all black, no white markings anywhere), Oskar, Silas and Rusty. I still confuse Silas and Rusty sometimes, because both are solid with no markings and the same gray, so I have to look really closely to tell them apart. My previous ones were Leo, Noah and Linus, the ones before that Krümel, Emil and Ignatz (and Gonzo, he was killed by another of my rats, Ben, though in a socialization gone horribly wrong when I tried to give him another one for company after Ben's brother Dustin died early of a heart defect). I had a rat named Charlie too, and once I had two girls, one of whom was called Lucy and the other I just ended up calling "the other" because I couldn't think of a good name, LOL.
I have 4 boys, Bartles & Jaymes, and Martini & Rossi. Now trying to figure out what to name the 3 new ones coming 6/15.
I have two females currently. The grey and white one is named Fable, and the brown with a white belly is Gypsy. I wanted names that were easy for command training, and I think they go well together. :)

My one rat is named Holly. That name just popped in my head one day out of nowhere. My albino red rat is called flöckchen. It's the cute form of the German word Flocke, which means flake. I love her, she is just the cutest, funniest, happiest cuddle rat :')
I am getting rats soon and If I get an albino buck I want to name him Ghost after Jon Snow's direwolf!
I'm apparently REALLY new to this group.... based on the years... that these comments were posted...I'm getting a rat soon and i might name it... Kroomhew, Lily, Carbit, Nibbles, and Crakle.
