i had 2 rats but they died my 1st one was timpeltin and my 2nd one is harison they were both boys they were both hairess rats my mom picked them out one for me and one for max((my brother max you look at my pic uwill see me and max))my rat died from a diesese and old age it was verry sad :(
My three girls are:Zoey (named after Zoey from Left4Dead and Zoey Dechanel)

and LT. Mustardseed (boyfriend named her.. enough said here LOL)

I wanted to name him Rufus and Spencer came to mind, but then one day mr.squishy came out and it stuck!
My favorite rat was my three-year-old PEW, Little. She was the runt. We had to put her down on the 15th due to tumors and respiratory. I miss her so much.
I agree with Jennifer. They really just don't live long enough. I've had five at a time, BTW.Here are the rats I've owned
Princess Leia (like in Star Wars)
Olive Snook (we just call her Olive)
Bree Bear
Little (or L"ittle Bean" because of how round she was
and Dobby (like the elf in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban)
Leia, Bree and Olive were all ready named.
Oh! And we almost adopted a rat named Bella but we were going to chang it to Icis (ICE-ISS)
I alos love the name "Ratty" for a buck (male).
i had a rat namedjezabell, dj and bj..
my current rats name is cuddles because she loves to cuddle up sence she was a baby rat she is tan and white iv"e had her for 2 years ..recently i found a lump under her back leg and found out it is a tumor very sad :( loves her to bits dunno what id do with out her
iv also recently brought 3 baby rats 2 are plain white like identical dunno how to tell diffrence accept ones more active than the other the 3rd rat is black and white and i have no idea what to name them yet!!! any ideas?
You could name the black and white one Patches or Patchy. :-)

Well I work at a wild animal shelter in the summer time and when we came about 2 weeks after there were a bunch of baby rats born. We have been taking care of him ever since before his eyes opened. I even had to bottle feed him

I love rats and almost all my friends do to but the problem is almost none of their moms like them. :-( Except for my mom. She LOVES Winnie. During the school day she will just take him out and work on her computer with him on her shoulder. :-)
My rats are gone... Tippy died old age. Rattata died of old age and Shadow ran off, never to be seen again. Shadow was a free spirit. A soul that could never be tamed...

Rats are actually clean animals, if you give them a clean cage you are good to go. :-)And I think only wild rats carry diseases, though pet rats are probably susceptible to getting diseases too, so just watch were you get your pet rat. Make sure the pet store has clean cages for their animals. And look to see if the rats they have are healthy looking.
Rats are actually cleaner animals than dogs sometimes :-) Rescue not buy
We adopted many dogs over the years from animal shelters the two dogs we have now are Montana and Dakota.

You work at a shelter, do you do volunteer work?
yeah. we've been voulenteering there ever since 3 years ago when i was 8:-) We have even been able to take care of 8 baby ducklings, a baby goose, and a juvenile duck. We have been kinda proofing ourself since we're only 9 and 10 so next year we will probaly be able to do more but we take care of all the educational animals like the ferret (R.I.P. Princess), the rats, the iguana, the snake, and 4 bunnies :-) We only work there during the summer time because its in lake tahoe and we drive 16 hours every year to there for the summer time
Its sounds really cool. I would like to volunteer at an animal shelter or a zoo. That would be really cool. :-)
yeah its really fun. i miss it sooooooooo much right now because its like 107 for the weather and tahoe is nice and its hot and humid here so u cant do anything and theres no life except for humans :-(
It has been supper hot here to. Some of the school air conditioners aren't working ether. :-(

Nope we live in Texas, and its super humid outside especially since it rained yesterday. The air conditioner in the Band Hall is not working for some unknown reason.... So when we are playing it really gets hot in there. :-(
YUCK! That sounds fun *lots of sarcasim in voice*
It is dreadfully horrible.... But luckily for use they fixed it today, though it did not make much difference as we went out on the field and marched. Which is good because we need all of the marching practice we can get but bad because the grass is wet and it was hot outside....

I have 2 female rats one is tan and white,the other is black and white.the g/w ones name is jay-j (there was a guy in my first grade named jay and loved his name so i made it into a girls name).
the b/w ones name is cici (like cicis pizza).
