Maybe skipped through the tall grass and sat down, pulling out a book.

Sadie sat down in the grass and she pulled her knees to her chest.
Maybe waved at the other girl, looking up from her book. "Hi!" she called.
"I'm Maybe," she said cheerful. "Maybe Smith."
"Sadie Brookins" She answered.
"That's a cool name," she decided thoughtfully. "So what brings you out here?"
"I need fresh air" She sighed.
"Well, this is the place to come I guess. You know it's really weird that people say fresh air. I wonder where that came from," she mused. "Anyways."
She shrugged and blinked back tears.
"Are you okay? You look a little down in the dumps," Maybe asked bluntly.
"You don't talk very much. Which I guess is okay cuz I talk a lot. Well, if you want you can tell me about whatever's got you down. I might not seem like it but I can be a good listener. Plus, I'm good at giving advice."
Sadie sighed. "It's a long story so here" She handed her a piece of paper that described everything. A tear rolled down her cheek.
"I guess a lot of people asked you huh?" Maybe asked, looking at the sheet in amusement. She read the whole page and turned back to Sadie. "That's so sad."
She nodded and started to cry.
"Oh, hey. Don't cry," she said softly. She glanced at Sadie awkwardly, never sure what to do when people cried. "I'm sure it won't last long."
"My mom forces us apart if we are near each other!" She sobbed.
"Yeah, but it's Aphrodite. You guys sound like a cute couple. I doubt she'll keep you apart for long."
She put her head in her hands and sobbed, "Mom hates us. She won't change her mind.l
"I doubt she hates you. To be honest, I don't think Aphrodite hates anyone. Unless she has a vendetta against your godly parent."
She patted her back consolingly. "Hey, it's okay. Until she changes her mind you can like write each other corny love letters or Skype and stuff. It won't last long. I'm sure of it."
"We can't do that!" She cried
"Because my mom won't let me" She said
"Won't let you guys write letters or talk on the phone? How does that work? I might be able to find a loophole."
"She won't let us make any contact" Her voice cracked.
"Hmm. That's a tricky one. Um, hmm. I'm stumped. Just wait it out, I guess. Trust me, it'll work out okay."
"Good, now find something to do in the mean time. Read, train. I dunno something, just to take your mind off things.
"Here, try reading it's fun," she said, handing her the book she had been reading earlier.
She took the book and opened it.
"Yup there you go. And I have plenty more at my cabin if you need."
"No problem." Maybe pulled another book out of her bag and started reading.
She started to read and a few tears dripped down her cheeks.
Maybe ignored the tears and continued reading. "Then if you get bored of reading you can talk to people about the book and discuss what you think about it."
"Okay. What book is this?" She asked
"The Princess Bride, the adapted version," Maybe replied. "It's one of the best stories every. Once you're done, you can watch the movie too. The movie's awesome."
"Okay" Sadie started to read.
"I generally ignore the abridged notes and just read the story. It saves time."
Maybe went back to reading, flipping through pages to find her spot.
Maybe flipped through the pages getting engrossed in the story.
Sadie sighed and she focused on the book.
