Sorow sat in the grass, looking up at the sky. She watched as a couple of birds flew over her, chirping loudly. She wondered what it would be like, to be as free as those birds. She loved it at camp, but sometimes, it felt like a jail cell, keeping her hostage, claiming to be keeping her safe.
Sorow heard footsteps approaching, and froze. She was always on edge that someone would catch her, and send her back to her dad. She tried to blend in as much as possible, to stop that from happening, but dressing as she did, in entirely black, it was kind of hard to go unnoticed.
Sorow turned to look at the boy, feeling slightly more at ease when she saw it was just another camper. "Well, hi", she said, still slightly cautious.
"Does it make a difference whether I'm alone or not?" she snapped, then sighed. "I don't know. I couldn't take it in my cabin anymore", she admitted.
