Eddie David (EddieDavidSantiago) | 9 comments Hi all,

I am looking for some assistance with getting the word out about helping an inmate receive a copy of my book. In addition, I will be using my strong counseling background to serve as a mentor to the inmate in an effort to help with their rehabilitation. All donations toward books will go directly toward getting an inmate a copy of my book. Even if anyone prefers to have the book directly mailed to the inmate from the manufacturer of your choosing, then I would just provide the donor the inmate’s shipping address and I would write a follow up letter to the inmate. I have received amazing letters of transformation from the inmates who have already received a copy, but there is a demand for more copies. Any assistance to help get the word out would be greatly appreciated. My links are below. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Kristi Cramer (kristicramer) | 53 comments Okay - I am home now and would like to help. How do I send a book? Do you have paperbacks to send from the publisher? If so, send me an address and I will have one shipped, and have them email you when it has shipped so you can send your letter.
Thanks.

Eddie David (EddieDavidSantiago) | 9 comments Sorry for the delay. Was caught up in a heavy work stretch. Would you like to mail one of my books to an inmate? If so, I can give you an inmate address or you can make a donation to have it mailed to them, whichever you prefer. Thanks much for the support. My email address is: loveenduresanddelivers@gmail.com

Thanks...

Please send me an inmate's address and I will send a book direct. You can email it to me at info@kristicramerbooks.com
I will let you know when I order it, when it ships, and when it gets delivered (I think).

No worries, dear. It is hard to keep track of what threads are where.

Kristi Cramer (kristicramer) | 53 comments Book has been shipped, expected delivery August 24.
(Of course, it then has to pass through the facility's internal mail system.)

Kristi Cramer (kristicramer) | 53 comments In Oregon, any book donations have to come from a retailer, like Amazon. Which is what I did here - ordered a copy from Amazon and shipped it directly to the inmate c/o the institution.

I wonder if you registered your charity with the jail if they would make an exception - that is, if you want to expand in that direction. Just a thought.

Eddie David (EddieDavidSantiago) | 9 comments Thanks much.

There are so many barriers. I learned the delivery system the hard way when I got eight books returned back to me one time. Yes, a number of them want them directly from Amazon/Barnes and Noble, etc. I now make sure to call the jail or make sure to get addresses from organizations who work directly with those jails. Thanks again Kristi : ) Keep fighting the good fight Dawn...

Max Mitchell | 1 comments I had a friend in jail in Alamogordo, New Mexico, and getting books into him was an incredible awakening. They would only allow Bibles or books based on the Bible. He wanted a couple of books that were Buddhist and Hindu related and the jail flat out said "NO" these books are not Christian. We had lawyers write letters and the ACLU get in touch with them and these people are unbelievably stuck in the middle ages. The irony, of course, its that the prison "library" was full of Bibles and pulp romance novels of the Mandingo style. Good luck getting stuff in. You might have to tell the press.

Jeff Altabef | 3 comments One of the benefits about donating to an organization like Covenant House is that absence of red tape. Something to consider.
