Zivan (zkrisher) | 22 comments I wanted to recommend a book and vent some audiobook frustration.

Saturn's Children is a space opera set in a post human solar system inhabited by the robots that were left behind.

I thought it was a dialog with Asimov's robots. But after reading Charles Stross's blog post about it, It's supposed to be a tribute to Heinlein.

For me it still answers the question, what would have more likely happened if humanity tried to build Asimov's robots.

Almost three weeks ago Stross published a sequel to Saturn's Children called Neptune's Brood.
It is set in the same universe, but doesn't continue the same story line.

I really loved Saturn's Children and was really looking forward to reading Neptune's Brood.

My frustration stems from the fact that as of now there is no Audiobook version of Neptune's Brood.

I'm spoiled I know, but in the past few years, I don't think I've encountered a book by a successful and even not so successful author that didn't come out in print and audio at the same time.

PS.
There is some graphic sex in Saturn's Children.

I recently stumbled upon Charles Stross with Halting State, and it was quite good!
Will give Saturn's Children a read.
