Ellie (goellie3) | 22 comments Hey Everyone!

I hope your Summer is AMAZING!! I just need help with one little thing :)

I am going into 9th grade in the fall. I have to read four required books over the Summer: A Long Way Gone and The Breadwinner Trilogy.

I finished A Long Way Gone a couple weeks ago and I need to start The Breadwinner Trilogy.
I tried to start it (I am 20 pages in) and I get distracted with other books.

How do I get inspired to continue reading my required reads?

Thanks for all of your help!

Anna (Unquenchable Reads) (unquenchablereads) Hmmmm.......... Inspire to get reading books for school?

Maybe: Read it and you might enjoy it!

Maybe: Read it so you don't have to read it later.

Hope these help!

Ellie (goellie3) | 22 comments Do you have any summer reading?

Anna (Unquenchable Reads) (unquenchablereads) Nope. I'm only going into 8th grade so my school didn't do it.

Ellie (goellie3) | 22 comments :) Lucky! I love reading but sometimes being required to read just makes it harder to read for some odd reason.

Anna (Unquenchable Reads) (unquenchablereads) I know! Last year in 7th grade they made me read Code Orange and I didn't get into the book

Ellie (goellie3) | 22 comments My brother just finished reading Code Orange for school- he didn't like it either.

Anna (Unquenchable Reads) (unquenchablereads) It just was kinda weird.

Megan | 6 comments I have to read a book for school as well. It helps to mark the book by sections as goals for each week. so maybe you mark off 100 pages for each week or something like that:)

Ashley | 58 comments Last year i had to read a book for school and i absolutely hated it. I would always get distracted. To get me to read it, i read a chapter of that book, then a chapter of any book i wanted.

mop (yikesmontana) I also had to read a very boring book recently. (Keep in mind; I'm in grade 7, and no one else in my class reads outside of school.) Anyways, we were reading Mockingbird by Kathryn Erskine and I found that book quite boring compared to other YA books. So, what I did was, painfully, not let myself read anything else until that book was done. I got through the book in 2 days!

Ellie (goellie3) | 22 comments Thanks! That might be my problem, I am currently reading three books along with my school reading.

Jenna | 9 comments if it's an old, boring, classic novel (NOT SAYING THEY'RE ARE ALL BAD)I imagine a great great great ancestor of mine reading the novel and what they would think and what not.
