Karen Lowe | 1338 comments As I've just posted elsewhere, OH's back has given up again, so all my careful plans and booking for the Ed Fringe will have to be shelved. They don't refund tickets so will have to sell - I see ebay do a stubhub but not sure how widely known it is. What site do people usually use to look for tickets?

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Thanks. Bear in mind these are concessionary tickets... CONCESSIONS are for students, Over 60s, customers with disabilities, children under 18, people registered unemployed. Proof of status must be presented at the venue.

So if anyone fancies 2 tickets for John Lloyd's Liff of QI 11.30 Thurs am 15 Aug, followed by Ardal O'Hanlon at 7pm, and then Fri 16 Aug, Aggers, as part of the Ed book festival, 11.30, then Paul Merton at 4pm - pm me - happy to do a 'package deal' !

Am giving Gumtree a go as it seems the easiest to use.

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments OK, so have listed on Gumtree and Seatwave (daughter's recommendation). Just had an email via Gumtree for someone interested but I cannot see how that will work for getting paid. Gumtree don't involve themselves in the payment process and just recommend that you 'meet somewhere local face to face' which is a tad difficult as the buyer is American and we are in Shropshire and can't travel to the Fringe cos of health probs - which is why we are selling the tickets!
Hopefully the potential buyer will pick up the info from Seatwave unless the link gets edited out by Gumtree en route. What a pain.
Surprisingly, this is the last time I shall bother even trying to get up to the Fringe.

Have you posted in the morning thread?

Even if you have, do so again.

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Thanks Patti, but I'm not that bothered now. Looking on the bright side, it'll save us a lot of money NOT going all that way & all the beer and skittles involved. At least the camp sites either refunded us or have rebooked us for next year instead.

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Most people use Paypal when using gumtree if they are selling stuff like tickets

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Thanks Elle.
Waiting to hear back as we can't meet to hand over tickets and the student is heading to a hostel in Ed so she's not sure if they'd accept a postal delivery there for her.

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Aargh. Oh for goodness sake! My potential buyer has just contacted me, she's happy to go ahead with purchase but has just looked on Seatwave (this is SUNDAY) and they have taken the tickets OFF SALE!!! because obviously there is not enough time for them to be posted first class guaranteed delivery for THURSDAY!!!
I've contacted the poor lass again and said go with Paypal and Gumtree and her hostel are OK to accept the delivery in her name. For F's sake. Where has common sense disappeared to?
Last time I will use Seatwave.
That said, I should have known, cos my daughter was scammed by them. She bought tickets for a cricket match last year and when they turned up they were for a disabled person with carer!

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Yey! success! the lass has paid by Paypal so the lucky duck gets to see John Lloyd (Blackadder/ Meaning of Liff) in glorious Edinburgh - with Ardlan O'Hanlon thrown in. Not literally, obviously.
Still got tickets for Friday to sell tho if anyone's interested.
