Riya To discuss The Host movie- how'd it relate to the book? What'd you like about it? What would you change? Anything you want to talk about :D

Miranda (somecrazygingerkid) yuck, personally I loved the book far more then her twilight series. BUT the movie was lacking in the emotional connection I had with the characters in the book. it felt far too rushed. the casting in the movie I was actually fine with, so wouldn't change that. if they redid the movie id say put better thought etc into making it more connectable.

Makayla (moonyslibrary) | 5 comments it felt really rushed. the relationship between Wanda and Ian in the book was really spaced out and had more emotion. In the movie it felt like Ian saw her and just fell in love in 2 days. I just didn't like how rushed that connection was

It wasn't quite as good as the book but I still really liked this film. My only main problem was how (view spoiler) I'm very thankful to this trailer when it first came out for getting me to check out Imagine Dragons though. :)

Lex | 14 comments I haven't seen the whole movie but clips of it. I think it would be difficult in the first place to show the emotional connection between characters, and there is alot. I wonder how they will show Melanie and Wanda.

Bailey Ann | 15 comments I haven't read nor seen neither of them. However, it is in my purchase bag on the bargain books website :)

You should definitely read it Bailey, it's so much better than Twilight.

Lex, for a movie adaption it's actually pretty good. It's not perfect but it's certainly better than some adaptions.

Lucy Eleanor | 19 comments When is a film better than the book .. ? I'm yet to experience that.

I've actually experienced that with The Notebook. The book bored me to death and the film was a little better. But I guess that's because of a bad book, not a good film.

Hmm I don't think I have either :)

Yeah, I know this is more Science Fiction but it does have a few aspects of dystopian in it and without loosely fitting dystopian books-turned-films this folder would be much more empty. There just aren't enough all out dystopian books being turned into movies :(

message 13: by David (new)

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 1040 comments Well technically dystopian is a subgenre of science fiction. So a book can be both science fiction and dystopian. The lines are getting blurrier and blurrier though about defining genres!
