Kristie | 2212 comments Just wondering if others have received the latest fairly major upgrade to the Audible Android app (Version 1.5) and what they think of it. I have to say I'm very satisfied with the improvements that were made. I think that overall it's much more intuitive than the old version. Several things I found awkward on the old version are improved this time around.

My only (fairly minor) complaint is that I still have a bunch of Audible books that were downloaded into multiple parts (before they recently started downloading them all as one big file). When the app indicates the amount of time left in the "book," it only indicates the time left in that part, not the whole book. I think I have my settings correct, but if anyone knows how to rectify this, I'd appreciate it!

The same is true of the iOS update after the last update. It can be confusing!

My guess for the download question would be to remove the files and re-download?

Tomerobber | 193 comments Hmmm . . . I'm using the iOS v. 2.0.4 and I'm able to see the total time remaining on main library page. When I activate the link it takes me to the individual parts of the download and displays the time remaining for each part.

You said it better than I did, TR :)

Kristie | 2212 comments The Android version does not show the total time remaining for a book on the main library page. When I activate the link to the book, it does show the time remaining for each part.

Even if it did show me time remaining on the library page, I'd rather see it when I'm in the book, since I'm rarely on the library page, and going there to find time remaining would be an extra step. Not a huge deal, but kind of annoying.

Kristie | 2212 comments Now that I look at it, I wonder if the issue is that the app update happened while I was in the middle of reading a two-part book. It appears that it's recognizing all my other large books (that I purchased quite awhile back) as one file and showing total book time, so this might just be a short-term issue with my current book.

Problem (hopefully) solved!

Danielle (danielleve) | 2 comments Oh I am so happy!!! Half a year ago, I couldn't even sign into Audible for android, and now I can! Super happy. Haven't tried it yet, as I have finished all my books from audible and ran out of credits...

If I understand correctly the complaint is the update now shows you time left in chapter rather than time left in book. Go to settings. Choose playback options. Hit on progress bar and you can set it for time left in book instead of chapter and it will stay that way.

Travis (travistousant) | 543 comments If that setting doesn't help I'm not sure I see you are talking about a case like les miserables that had 7 parts and I haven't had a big book like that since I upgraded

Thank you, Travis!!!!

Travis (travistousant) | 543 comments Glad I could help. I don't understand why they don't show both chapter and book length rather than one orthe other.

Kristie | 2212 comments Travis, you were understanding the issue correctly. I did have that setting you referenced set on "whole book," but it was still only recognizing parts.

As I said above, I think I'll be fine once I'm done with my current book (Madame Bovary, which was downloaded as two parts), as the update occurred while in the middle of listening to it. It appears all my other books are going to be fine.

Jonette | 27 comments Still no volume slider like on my Ipod. :(

Rebecca (themagicmonster) | 50 comments There is a setting for how much left for book instead of the default chapter... go into settings, then progress bar select full book... I hate how long it takes to sink bookmarks and stuff for local titles. I wish you could turn it off and manually sink.
