Peter Wacks (peterjwacks) | 3 comments Hi All!

This post is to ask your advice. I chose this group to post in for a couple of reasons: Namely its a smaller group and its MY genre - which means i'm most likely to find cool new friends here :)

So, I'm fairly new to goodreads, and I am an author of a time-travel sci-fi book. I'm looking for advice on how to best promote my novel without treading on toes - which is one of the recommendations in the goodreads author panel. Any suggestions?

Cliff Ball (cliffball) | 13 comments I suggest using Facebook, Myspace, twitter, creating your own website, pretty much using whatever social network you can find. Google author promotion, book promotion, stuff like that and it should come up with millions of results!

Mir | 2 comments Hi, Peter! If you click "explore" on the navigation bar there is an "authors" link that lets you post promotion material. Also you can add book releases or signings on the "events" page. You might also want to give away a couple copies on the "giveaways" section (click "explore" and then "books") as that gets a lot of people to at least read the description.

Great advice, thanks :)

Mir | 2 comments Oh, and I just checked out your book. I don't know if you as author are able to add a description to the entry (you know, in that info box at the top?), but if you can I think that would be helpful. I know I tend to skip over books if there is no plot description etc.

Miriam, you rock. Fixed, detailed plot/book info now available.

Hey Peter,

Times have changed since 2009 but hey with Time Travel its all relative right? We have an authors forum, and we also have a free book giveaway. You can promote your book by giving it away. Or you can nominate your book as the book of the month and have us all read it and discuss it.
