review- a world where you didn't talk out loud. where videogames and cell phones were controlled with your mind. lemme jusy say that this book was intriguing from start to finish. I really loved the aspect of the Clan and Simon, i think, was a really good corner. I was waiting around every corner for something big to happen with him but I guess thats what happens when you read great books!

Review: This little cozy was quick to read. The characters were okay, I did like the ones I was supposed to like and dislike the ones I was supposed to dislike. The story was good and held my interest, though it was certainly no literary masterpiece and wasn't intended to be.
It was clean, no truly foul language (there was one word that might be questionable to some but really wasn't to me, having a bit of a dirty mouth myself from time to time). There was no description of sexual encounters, only innuendo, which I also appreciate.
There was the obligatory murder and the usual suspects. The story was cute and I did enjoy it. I would have given 3 stars but for the errors outlined below. It was apparent that no human (no human paying good attention anyway) edited this book. All of the errors I noted would have easily passed a spell check - real words used incorrectly. Because of the errors, I subtracted 1 star.
A couple of examples:
At location 3146 - Then I dressed carefully in a red sink blouse with a big, open collar, a flared black skirt, and high-heeled black sandals.
At location 2108 - Margo cracked open the door into the main boardroom to make sure the cost was clear.
At location 570 - success. Jas and Ollie remained the very definition of friends, i.e., two people made at the same third person, so I dared not spring Moses from solitary.
If there had only been a couple of these issues, I would have just let it go, but there were a lot of these types of errors and they became annoying.
I did like the anecdotes regarding the cats. If you're looking for Armando, don't look here because he was absent throughout most of the story - remember, Kate was "Waiting for Armando."
WOTW:Wide - Location 947 - As I approached the corner office , I saw that his door was half closed instead of standing wide open as it usually did before his arrival, but if the man wanted to get an early start on his preparation for today’s inevitable court appearance, it was none of my business.
BONUS: Lawyer - Location 3537 - Emma and the young lawyer with whom she worked moved into the loft area on the second floor.

Book: Third Grave Dead Ahead by Darynda Jones
Finished: 9/13/13
Rating & Review: ★★★.
This installment starts with Satan’s son (Reyes) being pissed off at the Grim Reaper (Charley) for binding his corporeal body here on earth--Exactly where book 2 ended.
Reyes wants Charley to release him but isn't forth coming as to his reasons. Charley tells him that she doesn't know how, but he insists that Charley could since she is very powerful. this puts them at an impasse.
Meanwhile, Charley's dad, still full of guilt, asks her to quit working for law enforcement. She is constantly in danger, getting beat up and shot at etc, and Dad can't take it anymore. Charley refuses, instead, she takes on a missing person's case.
Charley's new case is to find Doctor Nathan Yost’s missing wife Teresa. Dr. Nathan Yost says all the right things about wanting to finding Teresa, but his behavior is so suspicious that both Charley and Cookie name Dr. Nathan a person on interest aka “you did it, I just need to prove you did it”.
So we have the adventures of Charley the PI, and the usually crime solvers gang.
I like Charley, but there isn't a real romance here and I need that to keep going. It's sad that I get Reyes as a real person, and they don't even have real people sex (physical). I have given Charley a fair shake and may or may not read another book in this series. It’s not a bad series, it just isn’t that interesting to me.
WotW: Wide: “Walker froze, his eyes wide with disbelief as he glanced down” (Pg. 280)
Bonus: Lawyer: “Wouldn’t a good lawyer have sufficed?” (Pg. 271)

Book: Love in a Nutshell by Janet Evanovich

Finished: 9/13/13
Rating & Review: ★★★★
For the final week of my words with friends challenge I decided to finish off with one of my favorite authors. Kate’s life has hit the bottom so when the chance to reinvent herself comes up she has to jump at the chance. Kate’s ok with saying goodbye to the past she doesn't need the cheating ex-husband or the magazine editor job. Determine to turn her parent’s cottage The Nutshell into a Bed and Breakfast Kate sets out for Keene’s Harbor. However her problems just keep adding up after losing her job at the local brewery, the cottage has mold, bad plumbing, and bees to start.
Her landlord Matt offers her a deal she can't refuse when he asks her to spy on his brewery and see if she can figure out what’s really going on. Only two problems with working in a brewery first Kate doesn't like to drink beer it makes her sick. Plus she’s working for Matt who Kate can’t deny she’s that there is chemistry between the two. However Kate is determined not to fall for Matt but he won’t make it easy because he’s the perfect guy. He even goes above and beyond to get her dog Stella back who she was forced to give to her ex in the divorce. Will she get her Bed and Breakfast off the ground, find out what’s really going on at the brewery and who’s doing it?
I love Kate her life is in a nutshell a disaster. Kate doesn’t give up she’s willing to do what it takes to succeed but falling for Matt isn't in her plans. Both Matt and Kate aren't looking for love but with the undeniable chemistry between the two they can’t fight it. What can I say about Matt he’s just perfect for Kate he is willing to do anything for Kate.
I've been a longtime fan since I was in high school of Janet Evanovich. So when I heard she had a new series out I knew it is a must read for me. Dorien Kelly is a new author to me and I think they partnered well creating a fantastic story. Love in a Nutshell is exactly what I've come to expect from Janet Evanovich a brilliantly written first installment. Love in a Nutshell is a fast paced mystery filled with humor and romance that keeps you guessing till the end. The characters are memorable; they are easy to connect with and kept me smiling even after finishing the book. Kate reminds me a lot of Steph but she has her own unique quirks that kept me laughing. I had a hard time putting Love in a Nutshell down if not for a dog walk and three year old I would have finished the book in one morning. I’m super excited to check out the next book in the Culhane Family series we have a taste of future family members for later books. For me Love in a Nutshell is another home-run for Janet Evanovich.
WotW: Wide - 1% She was just over five feet tall, and had short-cropped blond hair, big hazel eyes, and a wide mouth that he suspected would light up a room when she smiled.
Bonus: Lawyer - 64% I had the loft apartment and no dog park in walking distance. I didn't even get visitation rights, thanks to your high-priced, evil divorce lawyer.

review - this book was so great!! it reminded me of Speak. I felt so bad for Alex, having to go through that but she was such a stronger person after the Mockingbirds got done with Carter. it has definitely left an impression on me. date-rape is not something I plan to even slightly etch into my future.
WIDE - "her eyes go wide" pg 51
LAWYER - "who acted as a lawyer" pg 334
So proud of you ladies: Mandy, Rhonda and Zakiya.
