"Digging 4 Books" I was thinking how you dig for clams for chowder and since we are 4 in number. I know I'm always digging through a my piles of books.

As far as the words of the week are concerned, do you all want to just stick to first come first serve for the letters?
The way we did it last time was first come but we also tried to be flexible in case someone was stuck with a letter and couldn't find a book with the words.It seemed to work well.
First come is fine with me. My TBR is so long that being flexible won't be a problem. I'm a bit worried about the bonus words. Pancake will be difficult. Are we each to get the bonus word or will it work if only one of us finds the bonus word?
We all need it for max points. I haven't even started looking yet. ugh.
Ive started looking for a few options but I need to definitely do more.The sad part is that I just finished a book last week that had pancake in it lol.

We go for full points everytime. We are playing to win. Speed isn't as important now, but it is a factor later on.
the way we did this was people would claim a letter:
I would "A", but I also have E, S in my TBR
First come, first serve, but we try to make sure everyone is covered.
for the newbies, amazon has a feature called "look inside" and it allows you to search paperback books for certain terms.
Last time, everyone told what their prefered reading genre was (Mine is PNR, romance etc) and we compiled a master list with books from every genre with every book. So we had a list of books to choose from.
i suggest we do that now because we have 4 days before the first word.

I don't even know where to look for pancake. The types of books I'm reading don't lend themselves to pancakes! I'm at a loss....To make sure I understand the bonus thing. The bonus word has to be somewhere within the book you're reading for the game and you note the page number and write the sentence you find it in. Is that right?
I haven't even looked at the other bonus words. Pancake has distracted me...

I've come across pancake quite a bit for some reason lately even in paranormal reads. You have to hope for the tougher bonuses to be paired with the easier words like home.
My favourite genre is YA in general. PNR & Contemporary if we get specific.
I'm a slower reader averaging 2 books a week. Last week I had 3, but the week before that only 1. I hope I don't drag the team down.How does speed come into play later? I want to be prepared. I found a book for pancake; hopefully it will work with the word of the week when the time comes.

I will say like 30% in and this book is slow or I'm loving this book etc.
I'm sure that will work for me. In another group challenge, I tend to ask everyone's progress by the middle of the reading week anyway. It's become a habit lol :)
Every other day or so works for me, shouldn't be a problem.I do have a question though. Does the book for the wotw have to be started after it is called on Friday? If we are already reading a book when the wotw is called and that book works for the wotw and the bonus word, can it be used?

But it gets competitive fast. Some teams don't post their books so other teams don't get ideas. They reveal their books on the last day. I've played both ways. It all depends on whether you care if others get book ideas from you. On my team with Mandy, I posted our books on Wed or Thursday.
But on another team, we declared our books as soon as we decided what to read.
It doesn't matter to me. Whatever the rest of you would like to do. If it gets competitive that fast, I vote we keep them to ourselves until the end of the week.The only letters I seem to be having trouble with are R, T, and U. I have no Qs whatsoever, but I haven't yet found a book with the word "quit" in it.
Also, are we going to have a spreadsheet? I would make it, but since this is the first time I've played, I'm not really sure what a good format would be.
I have a Q. It has all but 2 of the bonus words, so I guess we'll have to see what bonus word comes with Quit.
On a second look, I have two Q books and all but 1 of the bonus words.
Awesome! I actually just found a U book with Quit in it. All bonuses except three. Wooh!
