So good! impossible to follow? I suggest "The Book Thief" Any others?

I remember reading this for the first time and the next 5 or so books I read just seemed so bland and disappointing, so I though I would post a topic to help out first time readers of this book. I fell as deeply into "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak as well, so that will be my recommendation. Does anyone else have books they might suggest follow "To Kill a Mockingbird" and keep that excitement for reading going?

I'd recommend In Cold Blood because it was Harper Lee's next project. She teamed up with her childhood friend Truman Capote (the model for Dill) and became his research assistant in what may have been his most important book.

After that, I recommend Mockingbird, which is a bio of Harper Lee and the two films on Capote: "Capote" and "Infamous." Also worthwhile is the documentary "Hey Boo."

You might try Fannie Flagg. "Daisy Faye and the Miracle Man" is my favorite, but "Fried Green Tomatoes" is the most well known.

Now It Is Time to Sany Goodbye by Dale Peck is heavily influenced by Mickingbird, but it is quite strong in violence and sex, I love it but it it an acquired taste
