What did you think of Charley's plan to catch her client's husband cheating? What about Cookie's reaction when he caught them?

This was a great opening chapter! I loved that Charley thought to bring Cookie in on the scheme. I knew that crazy antics were going to follow! How could they not! I do think that it made a great tie in to Cookie getting gun lessons and helping her deal with what happened to Charley/Earl Walker. So good!

That. Was. AWESOME! Cookie was hysterical. Giving him a military salute. HAHAHA leave it to Cookie to create chaos in the first chapter of the book!

I agree, the book began with a bang. Cookie saluting, lol. It set the tone for the rest of the book. Truly loved it.

I have to say, I really LOOOOVE how Reyes steps in front of Charley as he takes the bullet. I want to swoon every time I think about it. Cookie is such a fire cracker too! And Uncle Bob's infatuation with her is just adorable.

I loved this first chapter, it perfectly set up the rest of the book, although we don't really know that it's doing that! It gave us our hilarious Anastasia aka Cookie, Charley and her snarky antics, and of course, heart thumplingly perfect amazing Reyes, saving Charley (again). This chapter was chock full of goodies!!"I have depth. I've read Proust. No, wait, that was Pooh. Winnie-the-Pooh. My bad." LOL!!!!

Oh, back to the initial question (I go side tracked in all my excitement over having just finished!

I think Charley's plan to catch the cheating husband was solid. And was especially perfect that she got to bring in Cookie in this way. And Cookie was just so, well, Cookie! Awkward, amazing, and resourceful! I do have to admit my surprise that she pulled a gun! That totally caught me off guard! I was also surprised by the husband's reaction to the whole thing, and that he was clearly more than just a cheating a-hole.

I love how Chapter 1 started with a bang. Darynda didn't waste any time with creating hilarious moments.

Ok, now that I've officially started reading...
Cookie AKA Anastasia was hilarious. I loved how the cop came in after she introduced herself as Anastasia and called her Cookie. Almost blew her cover :) And the salute was so silly and so Cookie.

I did feel kind of bad for Charley in terms of Jessica. Nobody likes to be made fun of, an the sad part was that they were once besties. Jessica is a jerk.

How funny was Cookie talking about watching Prison Break? Those boys are totally hot! Reyes's map of hell tattoo reminded me of Wentworth Miller's tattoo's in that show. :-)
