Tara ♪ Someone Named Eva. Excellent. Sad, but hopeful. My first favorite book of all time. Still one of my favorite books of all time. A book I try to read at least once a year. Impeccable research at its best. One of my first historical fiction books. The only book that I've read ten times.

All of those things are Someone Named Eva to me. What is Someone Named Eva to you? Which parts did you love the most? Were there any parts that you hated? Am I the only one who couldn't stand Franziska? Did you, like me, have trouble trying to find a book that was worthy to follow this book?

This is your place to talk about Someone Named Eva! Let's start!

Lani I agree with everything you said except for the Franziska part. I think she was just really traumatized about everything that was happening. I hated the part when they took Eva away from her house in Germany. I feel so bad for the mother.

Tara ♪ I know. I mean, I was glad that she got to go home, but I was sad for Mutter and Elsbeth. And while I agree that she probably was traumatized, she seemed to be mean before they were taken away, in addition to after being taken away.

Lani I don't remember if it said she was mean before her mother died, but I don't think she was.

Tara ♪ She said that Hanna could never be an actress because she wasn't pretty enough and had reading problems. The teachers didn't like her because she was too critical. She never even tried to make friends with anybody. Just saying, she seems a bit mean to me.

Lani Was this before her mother died?

Tara ♪ No, good point. Her mother died before the book even started.
