The World's Easiest Guide to Family Relationships question

Is this author approaching couples and family counseling from a Christian perspective, or from a non-religious one? If it's the former, I don't think it's really relevant to today's modern society, especially in the Western World, where the pool of people who are counseled come from different cultural and religious backgrounds.
