Jennifer | 47 comments I am curious about those who use edelweiss. Re: Harper Collins I have always heard back from them within 1-2 days after requesting a book.

But I have not heard back from them since I requested e-books at the end of January. Has anybody else had this problem?

Thanks I was starting to freak out. I love Harper Collins and have heard nothing from them for 3 weeks.

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Jennifer Same! I haven't gotten either approved or declined for their last galley drop and I always get approved within 24 hours (or so). I thought it was just me!

Maybe they have some technical problems...

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Sarah - thank you!

@Irena - Maybe..? I hope it clears up soon, if so.

message 2560: by Amber (new)

Amber (bookvampirewub) | 8 comments It has taken a while for a few on my end as well. It may depend on the publisher.

message 2561: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 47 comments We are talking about Harper Collins who in the past have always approved/declined within 1-2 days. But I have heard nothing re: the January 29th set of e-books. So this is highly unusual.

'read now' just means that you can download the book straight away without having to wait for approval from the publisher ☺

I haven't started that series yet, I've heard its good though.

message 2572: by Irena BookDustMagic (new)

Irena BookDustMagic | 1344 comments I want to request Warrior Witch but have only 63% rating so I doubt I'll get approved. I'll wait until tomorrow to request though because I plan to review two books then and maybe I'll get more chance even though I'm not sure...

message 2573: by Tati (new)

Tati It's pretty good! And I got it!

message 2574: by Tati (new)

It totally is! :D

message 2579: by Tati (new)

Tati I hate it when the ARCs are unreadable due to formatting!

Irena BookDustMagic | 1344 comments Tati wrote: "I hate it when the ARCs are unreadable due to formatting!"

Ohh, I hate that too. I've hear there's a way to make them more readable, but not sure if that works on Kindle...

Anyway, why do publishers send those kind of ARCs, I'll never understand...

Can I ask you what particular ARC are you talking about?

message 2581: by Tati (new)

Tati The Winner's Kiss (The Winner's Trilogy, #3) by Marie Rutkoski

It's fine on Digital Editions, but not on Kindle

message 2588: by prag ♻ (new)

prag ♻ (janayanation) I just joined netgalley and I requested too many random books in a rush. I'm pretty sure I made a mistake- there are 7 books sitting on my shelf and I've been able to get through only one of them so my rating percent is really low (14%) this is so annoying if I keep going like this there is no way I'm gonna get approved for something good:(

message 2589: by Tati (new)

Tati I got it!! BR?

I did that when I first joined as well!! To be honest I still have 3 books on my shelf that are from that accidental rushed requesting on my first day. After I while I was able to pull my ratio up to over 80% so you'll be fine! :)

message 2592: by prag ♻ (new)

prag ♻ (janayanation) Yeah, I guess so:)

message 2593: by Irena BookDustMagic (new)

Irena BookDustMagic | 1344 comments I never got to 80% but still get approved for good books.
I remenber that Penguin Teen aproved me for Finding Audrey when I was sth like 52% so don't worry!

Go to this page:
http://edelweiss.abovethetreeline.com/

Then click on review copies. It will show what is new. You can then click on "request digital RC (the blue button).

I find it super easy once you get used to it.

message 2596: by Jenn (new)

Jenn G (jenng10) Just joined Edelweiss! :)

message 2597: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (xanthax) | 2485 comments I remember when I first decided to join one of these ARC websites (I can't think of a better term) I only wanted to join either Netgalley or Edelweiss, not both, so I looked at both and immediately dismissed Edelweiss because I couldn't understand how it worked haha.

message 2598: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments I prefer NetGalley.

message 2599: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments I adore Edelweiss. Once you get used to, it's really easy to use. Promise! But yeah, it's set out weirdly at first and that turn off a lot of people.

message 2600: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 47 comments I really don't get why people find edelweiss difficult. It is the simplest thing once you try it once. Plus you can actually say why you want to read a book. Much better in that respect than netgalley. I much prefer edelweiss. They have way more books that i want. And i get accepted for way more there.
