Omg, Congrats!
I want this one so badly! :) I LOVED her previous two books.
Enjoy it!!

message 2503: by Tati (new)

Tati Its historical fiction set in World War II, that's enough to sell me on the book LOL

I also enjoyed her previous book, Between Shades of Gray

message 2504: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments I should really get back into Netgalley. I haven't requested a book in weeks!

I loved her other book, Between shades of gray, but I couldn't decide about that one. Hope you enjoy it!

I don't really do history.

I'm on a requesting ban! I have way too many to get through.

message 2508: by Tati (new)

Tati I love History! It was one of my favorite subjects in school, and I still read plenty of historical fiction/ History books

I don't mind some historical novels, I just don't know that much history to know how acurate some of them are.

Irena BookDustMagic | 1344 comments Hey guys, I have a question.
I'm not sure if you already discussed this but,
What is up with that "I wish for it" option?
I tought it is a button you click because you wish you had an option to request it.
I mean, for weaks I clicked on that for so many books I don't even know the number.
Today I got two emails that wishes do come true and I was randomly selected for those two titles.

So I really don't understand, do publishers look at our profiles and statictics or do they really randomly pick reviewers?

Do you get those emails "wishes do come true" and if yes, how often do they come true?

I mean, I am glad I got approved, don't get me wrong, but at this point I don't even know what I wished for...

message 2511: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
I think previously it was just a way for publishers to get an idea of how many people were interested in a book. last week netgalley sent out an email saying that some wishes would be randomly granted in the weeks leading up to christmas though ☺

message 2512: by Irena BookDustMagic (new)

Irena BookDustMagic | 1344 comments Ohh, okay! I guess I missed that email then,
Thanks Sarah!

Irena BookDustMagic | 1344 comments Thanks! I hope I will! I got The Bette Davis Club by Jane Lotter and The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald .

message 2515: by Tati (new)

Tati they've been doing that since October (the granting of wishes)

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments I feel like I always request books that I really want to read, but they always end up disappointing me.

message 2517: by Dana (new)

Dana | 887 comments I havnt got any wishes granted :(

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
I haven't had any wishes granted either.

message 2519: by Irena BookDustMagic (new)

Irena BookDustMagic | 1344 comments Since this new profile thing, I haven't got any approvals.
I think my profile sucks by new standards.
How about you guys?

Btw, I am going to my sister's for the weekend and she'll help me create a book blog so I'll finally have one.
Maybe then sth will change.

message 2520: by Irena BookDustMagic (new)

Irena BookDustMagic | 1344 comments And as for wishes granted, maybe I am wrong but I noticed I got wishes granted the same day when my review for Soundless got over 40 likes. Not sure if that is a coincidence or not.

message 2521: by Tati (new)

Tati I don't know about the new profile affecting my approvals. Since it was introduced, I've only requested books from publishers that have auto-approved me (just got See How They Run (Embassy Row, #2) by Ally Carter thanks to that)

I'm no longer using NetGalley to find new books. I'm using to request books I already have on my TBR list, so I haven't been requesting a lot from them

Tati I requested a book from NetGalley, and now I'm obsessively checking to see if I got it or not... How sad is that?

When it's a book you really want, it's sometimes hard to not keep checking!

Which one was it? :)

message 2535: by Tati (new)

Tati The Impostor Queen

message 2538: by Irena BookDustMagic (new)

Irena BookDustMagic | 1344 comments Can someone please do me a favor and check if on Edelweiss is a book Summer Nights at the Moonlight Hotel by Jane Costello able for request. The publisher is Simon&Schuster, author Jane Costello.
I don't have Edelweiss and I don't know how to use it but am willing to learn if there's a slice chance I could get appreoved (although I think that publisher is hard to get, am I right? ).

lol I got super excited to see that one too. I'm pretty hopeful that we will get it since its published by st.martins press and they are usually pretty generous with their arcs.

message 2543: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments I'm on an ARC ban at the moment, but I caved for Cabot's The Proposal because I love the Mediator series. If I don't get approved, I'm going to be devastated!

I haven't read that series in ages but i remember enjoying it. I think I only read the first 3

message 2545: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments The last three weren't as strong but the last book in the series comes out on the 2nd of Feb and it so good! It's an adult book and takes place 6 years after the sixth book in the series but it's probably my fave of the series.

message 2546: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 47 comments I really want to get approved for Proposal too since i just read Remembrance (the last book in the series). I am really liking the idea of taking YA books and adding an adult book that takes place years later.

message 2547: by Tati (new)

Tati When she did that to the Princess Diaries, I really disliked it

message 2548: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Jennifer - Let's hope it is as good as Remembrance was then! I like the idea too - as long as things work out how I hoped they did.

@Tati - Well, I loathe (see what I did there!) the Princess Diaries series so I don't really care, if I'm being brutally honest., but that's not good for the fans.

I agree with you. I couldn't even finish it which is very sad because I adored Princess Diaries back in the days.
