Ebooks on NetGalley/Edelweiss

Have you read this one already?"
Yep, i read it during the MMC. :)
Insurgent was pretty dull compared to it though.
I still haven't gotten round to it. I'm working on getting my review pile down so I can read more of my own books. Down to about 25 now so doing pretty well!

Ooh, you're doing good! I remember it being 45 not so long ago.
I was pretty late to the party with Divergent, haha.
I only bought it before the MMC, because it went down to £1.99.
I still need to read Delirium though. I bought that on offer too.
I got it from the works. Have read delirium though ☺ my review pile was up to almost 100 at the beginning of July, I want to have a quicker turn around time for reviews though.

Ah, once you read those, it'll be easier to keep on top of them. :)
I wasn't sure about delirium as someone warned me off of it. I actually really liked it though ☺

I don't know about everybody else, but I never get emails confirming my request. I only get ones for acceptances (for one, I actually didn't get an email at all--I just came across it while I checked my requests page). So, if your request is showing up as "pending," that means it went through.
Angela wrote: "How to actually put the request in. I found the page where all the request able books are and I thought I put in the request correctly but I never got an email and it does show up in "my orders""
I don't think it should show up in orders. if you log in, then click on the 'review copies' tab
then when it loads the list of review copies, on the left hand side there are three smaller tabs - titles, downloads, requests

if you click on requests it should come up with a page telling you what you have requested, and the current status ☺

I'm not sure about this one. I got bored reading the blurb so I don't think I'm going to request it. What do you think?

I'm not sure either, for the same reasons.
All the reviews on GR are 5 stars, so there's nothing really to compare it too..

I wish I could do that, Sarah. Im terrible at it though lol

Mine was up to nearly 100 books in July, but I'm down to 20 now. It's taken a lot to get it down so much though!

Thank you sooo much! Now i finally get it! Im a visual person lol!

little green bars-

these are supposed to be an indication of how popular/ how much attention the book is getting. If the little bar is all the way full, it means it's getting good/a lot of press, if it's empty then it means the book is getting less positive reviews.
If you click the green bar next to 'goodreads' it should take you directly to the goodreads page for the book. If you click 'blogs' it does a search for blog posts about the book.
If you click the green bar next to 'twitter' it tells you recent tweets about the book.
I like the goodreads one, but I don't usually use the other two.

I wish I ...". Wow! Good for you!! I was getting freaked out when my review copies to read were 15!

I got freaked out when I hit the 100 mark, I thought even if I read a book a day, it's going to take me over 3 months to clear! I had to really cut back on the number of review requests that I accepted, which I hated to do, I have a real problem saying no, but it was also embarassing telling people that it would take me 3 months to get round to their book cause of my review pile!
Thankfully it's down to 19 now! Want to get it down to less than 14 really though.

I'm really impressed. It seems like you can just about read anything. I think I say no too often to requests, because my first thought is always, " what if I don't like it."

I find it really awkward telling authors that I didn't appreciate their book so I try to do it in the nicest way possible. I've had authors argue with me about it in the past, but if I don't like something, I'm not going to lie and say I did no matter how many 5 star reviews the author has!
I had one author write me an email answering the questions that I felt were unanswered at the end of her book. I ended up including it at the end of my review - if you need an email to explain your book, then maybe your book is missing something!

Yeah I LOVED The Edge of Never so much, but was like "they normally decline me" lol so you can imagine the shock. I just came home from the Bath Lit Book Festival as well.
Just got approved for

Slightly worried though cause I've just realised that it's published by Carina, and the two books I have read from them so far have been pants :(

You can get this galley if you are outside of the UK, but because they specifical say UK only, you are breaking the law and can be prosecuted for accessing the file from outside of the UK. Just a warning. The same goes for people who use sites like 'pulse it' outside of the US.

They've changed it since this morning. This morning it said UK only and was 'read now'. I'm only saying to be careful because I've been reprimanded by a company before because they approved me for the book, not realising I was in the UK, and then told me off, because I broke their licencing laws by downloading the book. Needless to say I don't request books from them any more. Be careful though cause it seems that certain publishers are happy to approve books and then pass the blame onto the reader if they are questioned.
