Jennifer | 47 comments I find that really odd that anyone at netgalley would send you such a rude email. They have always been so nice to me. You should definitely have been able to send your review. I guess I am confused why it would matter if a book had been archived (unless it happened on the day you were accepted). I download all of my books the day my request is accepted. And they don't disappear when the book is archived.

I thought I'd downloaded it, but then when I went to read it it wasn't on my kindle. I went back to netgalley but it had been archived so I couldn't download it then. I obviously got the one nasty person at netgalley, I can't remember his name though. I certainly haven't emailed them again. They really annoyed me.

This is on Netgalley here: https://www.netgalley.com/catalog/sho...

I just finished this and really liked it. It's set in a Thoroughbred horse racing society in New York. So if anyone else is a horse person, you may want to check this one out. :)

Dana | 887 comments Jeez that's really harsh. I'm glad that we can now edit feedback.

message 2305: by Tati (new)

Tati Got crazy excited to see Moonlight on Nightingale Way (On Dublin Street, #6) by Samantha Young on NetGalley, until I saw that it was US only

that's pants.

message 2308: by Dana (new)

Dana | 887 comments It would be so nice if you could search books by region on Netgalley. I get so excited for books I can't even get. If only I was a brit....or an aussie.

That would be good! I wish we could sort the 'read now' books by genre. it would be so much easier to find the young adult ones if you could choose to search only for them!

message 2310: by Dana (last edited May 02, 2015 08:47PM) (new)

Dana | 887 comments Hey guys, since many of you are edelweiss vets I was wondering if you could help me. I know, I know! I have asked for help in group about this a million times, but I have just requested my first book and I was wondering if you could glance at my request info and let me know if I am doing it right? Or if there is anything I should add/remove?

I made the request as a blogger instead of a reviewer since I figured that mattered more.

Description of Your Role: (Common across requests)
Blogger at http://atatteredcopy.wordpress.com (1,680 followers)

Goodreads Reviewer:(588 friends/followers)+(244+ in-depth reviews)
https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/7...

Additional Message:
I have read the first book in the series and enjoyed it immensely. As an avid blogger and reader, I always love being at the forefront for huge titles to get my followers excited for a book that truly deserves the attention.

I also review on Amazon but didn't bother mentioning that.

message 2311: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments It looks fine to me! I would add that you review on Amazon just so they see that your review isn't just people who use this site, but also people who are purchasing the book. Hope I helped.

message 2312: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 47 comments I would definitely mention that you will put your reviews on amazon. I think that your additional message is fine. I personally would put more in your description of role.

Do you review all of the books that you read? What kinds of books do you read? (YA, dystopia, mystery, historical, NA??). And are there others stats for your blog that you could mention.

Katie Dana wrote: "Hey guys, since many of you are edelweiss vets I was wondering if you could help me. I know, I know! I have asked for help in group about this a million times, but I have just requested my first bo..."

In mine I also have the number of page views from the last month for the blog, genres I read, and an email just in case. I pretty much looked at what Netgalley asks for and put it all on Edelweiss as well :)

message 2314: by Dana (new)

Dana | 887 comments Thanks guys! I'll be sure to make some changes.

message 2315: by Amphitrite (new)

Amphitrite (lady_amphitrite) On mine I tell them my name and where I blog at, what I blog for (like age range for books and genres), visitors and comments and page views (because I also run a WordPress and Tumblr blog with reviews), and I also give out all the links I have on social media and such (Twitter, Facebook, etc.), and I suggest inserting a date when all the information was last updated so they know how recently all the stats were updated and update them regularly (I do mine one every month unless I have a large spike to let them know how my stats are looking)

message 2316: by Dana (new)

Dana | 887 comments Thanks guys. I really appreciate your help <3 I added your suggestions. I am a little hesitant to add page views though since mine are not that impressive.

message 2318: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments I went to sign up for edelweiss but got really confused when it asked for my job title?

message 2319: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments Just my two cents, but I think it is easier to get approved on NG than EW.

message 2320: by Tati (new)

Tati So do I...

message 2321: by Dory (new)

Dory (fishthatreads) I barely use EW. I only got accepted for one book. NG is much better for getting accepted, and just using it is also better IMO.

message 2322: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4452 comments It's really easy to use. I find EW confusing.

message 2323: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments I love net galley, I use it all the time:)

message 2324: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 47 comments I am the opposite. I like netgalley. But I find it very hard to get approved. I absolutely love edelweiss, find more books on there, and get approved for a lot of books. I think once you understand edelweiss it is super simple. I just love it.

message 2325: by Tayla (new)

Tayla Potayta (taylapotayta) | 3057 comments yeah

netgalley > edelweiss

in my opinion

message 2326: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Agreed with tayla!

message 2327: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Jennifer Exactly! I get approved of every single book I request on Edelweiss. Not matter what publisher of my ration or whatever. On Netgalley it doesn't seem to matter if I have 100% ratio because I never, ever, ever get approved of anything. I now only use that account for read now copies! :)

message 2328: by Marie (new)

Marie | 257 comments @ Rachel Same here. I always get approved on Edelweiss and I never do on NG so I just gave up on NG lol.

message 2329: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Maybe it depends on where you live. I never get from EW. I'm in Europe

message 2330: by Tayla (new)

Tayla Potayta (taylapotayta) | 3057 comments I can never find anything on ew

message 2331: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Marie I'm glad a couple of people agree. I was thinking I must be crazy there for minute! :)

@Irene Maybe. I'm from Australia so I'm not one of the "bigger" countries (US/Uk).

message 2332: by Tati (new)

message 2338: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) @Tati - *patiently waits for this book* I'm so excited and I hope Samantha Young writes a story about Declan.

message 2339: by Tati (new)

Tati I think she said that she has no plans to write a book about Declan...

message 2340: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) @Tati - that's sad. :(

message 2341: by Tati (new)

Tati I'm on a roll with NetGalley LOL
