Wow, that's amazing! I'm jealous now ^^!

Kirsty (Amethyst Bookwyrm) (amethystbookwyrm) Well done, I'm so envious

Which branch was it Tatiana? I have HarperCollins UK, Children's ☺

message 2104: by Tati (new)

Tati That exact one, Sarah!

message 2105: by rachel, x (new)

message 2106: by Dory (new)

Dory (fishthatreads) Congratulations Tati!

@Dana I read on the computer since its quicker to do, only a quick read/download. The ones I've read were really fun.

when reading books from netgalley do you post your reviews straight away to your blog or other media sights?

message 2108: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments Crazy Butterflies (Marlleyy) wrote: "when reading books from netgalley do you post your reviews straight away to your blog or other media sights?"

No, not always. I immediately post a review on Goodreads though, just so I know that my thoughts are down somewhere and I won't forget what I really thought after finishing the book. I schedule my posts (on my blog) so I slip in the review at the closest open day after finishing the review and it add it my other accounts later (Amazon etc.). After all my reviews are posted, I fill in the feedback on Netgalley. It may take up to a week after finishing the book. :)

i do the same thing. I find that posting to Goodreads is easier as I already have the html for my blog and don't have to copy paste information as it creates the post and you can use the post to blog option. I usually try and post arc reviews close to the publication date. Otherwise, I post reviews based on importance/how much I liked the book sooner or those I didn't like/less important on the next available slot (I post reviews Mondays and Fridays). I'll post my Netgalley review right after the Goodreads one and tell them when it will be live on my blog as well as leave the link.

message 2110: by [deleted user] (new)

okay thanks for the help guys. thought was the only one who didn't post reviews straight away

message 2111: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
I post them straight away to goodreads, and then schedule it on the blog for around the release date. I've asked a few publishers and they seem okay with the review going up on goodreads early, because the reviews are easy to find on the books page and don't get buried the way they do on a blog ☺

message 2113: by Tati (new)

Tati I'd kill for an ARC of the first two

They look so good! Looks like we will be waiting though...

message 2116: by Dana (new)

Dana | 887 comments Thanks for the heads up Sarah. I have been wanting to check out Angelfall, I hear so many good things about it! But of course knowing me that will mean that I will hate it lol.

message 2117: by Dana (new)

Dana | 887 comments ugh not available yet. i hate this new trend. i have yet to see one of them actually become available and if they do there is never any notice of it. /end rant

message 2118: by Tayla (new)

Tayla Potayta (taylapotayta) | 3057 comments AHHHHHHH everyone read angelfall and world after <3

message 2119: by Tati (new)

Tati They do beco e available, but there is no notice, so you have to keep checking

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
OMG. I swear they were available to request when I posted them on here. This not available yet business is really annoying!

message 2121: by Dana (last edited Mar 03, 2015 08:24AM) (new)

Dana | 887 comments I know right! I wouldn't mind as much if there was at least an email notice or something when they did open for request. Do they do this on Eldelweiss?

Also just noticed you can't search for books not available for request.... Netgalley you used to be my best bud, how can you treat me this way!?

message 2122: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
This is apparently why they do the whole 'not available for request' thing, but I think it's rubbish - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

message 2123: by Dana (new)

Dana | 887 comments yeah it's so annoying. At least the guy said they will be adding notifications in the future...although I still feel a little jipped by the whole thing. Especially when these same unavailable books are available on Edelweiss.

message 2124: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
It annoys me when they start off with a request button, and then a few hours later it changes to 'not available' - does tha mean that your request will just be ignored or what?

message 2125: by Dana (new)

Dana | 887 comments Oh wow I didn't even think of that! So weird. I know that the UK version is available for request right now. Do you think that has anything to do with it? Although since these are not ARCS I don't see why it should matter.

message 2126: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
I have no idea.

message 2127: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments This one of the reasons why I switched to Edelweiss. Its so much easier to use and doesn't jerk you around like Netgalley does.

message 2128: by rachel, x (new)

message 2129: by Dory (new)

Dory (fishthatreads) If you have already read it (The DUFF), add it and post your review on netgalley for your approval rating. ;)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments Great idea Dory!

message 2131: by Dory (new)

message 2132: by Dana (last edited Mar 12, 2015 10:09AM) (new)

Dana | 887 comments Just a heads up that Angelfall and its sequel are now available for request for US and Canada

message 2133: by Dana (new)

Dana | 887 comments Just noticed they are published by Amazon, who seem to be pretty liberal with their acceptances. *Fingers crossed*

I've read the first one but not the second one. i think i thought it was alright when i read it, but when i think back on it, i end up screwing up my nose, so maybe i didn't like it? i don't know! confused!

message 2139: by Dory (new)

Dory (fishthatreads) @Dana I haven't read it, I can buddy read. But not within the next two weeks.

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments Dana wrote: "me too, hopefully there is someone left that hasnt read it that will buddy with me lol"

I can do it anytime

message 2141: by [deleted user] (new)

For whoever hasn't read Angelfall/World After, there's a Penryn and the End of Days series re-read here on Goodreads. Come join! :)

Irena BookDustMagic | 1344 comments Hidden Huntress (The Malediction Trilogy, #2) by Danielle L. Jensen will be up on Netgalley on Monday. If you have a chance grab it! I would like to but I don't stand a chance...

message 2143: by Tati (new)

Tati I'll definitely try!! I got the first one from NetGalley

Dory whenever you want to read it is fine with me.

Look forward to reading it with you Once Upon A Time

I know what you mean, unless a mod is really on the ball with deleting spoilers, there's always someone who has to say something! especially if its a re-read for them.

Dory (fishthatreads) Just a question, what is your approval rating?

If you could set up the thread I'm at work

message 2149: by Dory (new)

Dory (fishthatreads) Same @Dana, that buddy read group is too big to be good.

@Sarah, just anyone... I made the stupid mistake or requesting EVERYTHING that interested me because i thought i wouldn't get accepted to most of them... and here I am, flooded with eGalleys. Im at 48% ATM, and growing quickly. Two weeks ago I was at 25% or so.

message 2150: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
I'm flooded too. I've been reading like there's no tomorrow and I still have 130 review copies to get through. I seem to be collecting them faster than I can read them at the moment.
