rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Tatiana I don't understand how you have such bad luck! I have only ever been denied Atlantia by Ally Condie from Edelweiss. I have requesting next to thirty books, returned reviews on two and been denied one and I still just got approved of Every Last Promise by Kristin Halbrook 99 Days by Katie Cotugno Conspiracy of Blood and Smoke (Prisoner of Night and Fog, #2) by Anne Blankman Drive Me Crazy by Terra Elan McVoy Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman ! Hope you have more luck in the future.

message 1703: by Tati (new)

Tati @Rachel, I don't know either... I get far more rejections than approvals on Edelweiss...

In the last two months, out of 11 requests I only got 1 approval! I must be doing something wrong.

I wonder if it's because you're based in Australia and they don't have many Australian reviewers. I've heard that they like to give books to people who they deem have different audiences.

message 1705: by Tati (new)

Tati That makes sense Sarah. I wish I could take advantage of that, but I seriously doubt I'd get more approvals if I changed my profile to Brazil...

message 1706: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I got my first auto approval!!!

message 1707: by Tati (new)

Tati Yay!! WHich publishing house?

message 1708: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Haha that will remain secret but it's nobody huge

message 1709: by Tati (new)

Tati Either way, it's still very nice when you get an auto approval! I still remember how much I wanted to scream when I got my first one LOL

message 1710: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 47 comments Another thing that you can do on edelweiss is submit reviews for books that you were not approved for. I don't know if this would help, but perhaps submit some reviews for books you've read for publishers you are having trouble getting approved for.

message 1711: by Tati (new)

Tati What do you mean? Reviewing some 'Read now' books?

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments I can't wait until I get my first auto approval. I notice if I request books from this one publisher I get approved 9 times 10

No, she means that if you read a book that you own, you can submit your review to the publisher via edelweiss as long as the title is listed on there ☺

message 1714: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 47 comments Tati wrote: "What do you mean? Reviewing some 'Read now' books?"

You can go into any book on edelweiss and review it. Look at any book and see where it says "your review". You can add your review even for books where you were declined.

message 1715: by Tati (new)

Tati Oh, I got it now!

Thanks, girls!

message 1716: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Tatiana You rppor thing! I hope you have more luck soon.

@Sarah Maybe that's why!? I think it be the only time not coming from the US or the UK is an actual advantaged then! :)

message 1717: by Tati (new)

Tati Here I go again on Edelweiss... Why do I do this to myself? LOL

message 1718: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
What are you requesting? I'm trying really hard to not request as I'm not reading review copies for another 10 days.

message 1719: by Tati (new)

Tati I requested:

Endangered by Lamar Giles Finding Paris by Joy Preble None of the Above by I.W. Gregorio

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments Edelweiss to me is super confusing to use.

message 1721: by Tati (new)

Tati It's very unfriendly, in using and in getting approvals LOL

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments Yeah I heard about that.

message 1727: by Hadiqa (new)

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments Can someone help me find my kindle email so I can get books from Netgalley and Edelweiss on my new kindle?

message 1737: by Abi (last edited Nov 30, 2014 09:11AM) (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Once Upon A Time wrote: "Can someone help me find my kindle email so I can get books from Netgalley and Edelweiss on my new kindle?"

At the top right hand corner, it says "your account" scroll over that, and click on "Manage your content and devices"
When you're on that page, it should say "Your content" "Your devices" and "Settings" at the top. Click Settings.
Scroll down until you see "send to kindle email settings" It should tell you there.

After you've got your kindle email, you need to add netgalley/edelweiss's addresses to your approved list so the books go through to your kindle. The bit where you add them is right underneath that.

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments Will I see it if I don't have my Kindle yet but a kindle app?

If you've ordered your kindle from your account, it will show. I don't know if they give you one for a kindle app though.

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments oh well I don't get my Kindle until Monday from Kmart.

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments Okay now I don't see the books that I sent to my kindle what do I do now?

message 1742: by Tati (new)

Tati Did you authorize the email accounts from the senders?

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments Yep

message 1744: by Tati (new)

Tati Do the books show as pending deliveries on Amazon? I'd try sending them again

message 1745: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments Or just turn your kindle off and back on again. They don't appear straight away if you are already "logged in" (if its on and using it) - well, not for me anyway.

Once Upon A Time wrote: "oh well I don't get my Kindle until Monday from Kmart."

Does Kmart sell kindle readers?

message 1747: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments Not in Australia. Try Big W. :)

message 1748: by Dory (new)

Dory (fishthatreads) You don't need a kindle reader to read the books. YOu just need any device, apple or android. and get the kindle app. Unless you have a kindle device already, you shouldn't need to have a kindle just for these books.

When it "sends" to your device, it should pop up in your library as soon as the device is connected to the internet. FYI, each device has a different kindle email which ends with "@kindle.com", its not the email you use to log-in to amazon.com
