I can do the first five of them sometime. I already have a buddyread for The Paper Magician the 17th of November.

I'm right with you with the chocolate. :)

Invincible by Amy Reed 99 Days by Katie Cotugno Every Last Promise by Kristin Halbrook are all on there ☺

message 1675: by Tati (new)

Tati I've requested the two I posted and Every Last Promise. The other two didn't really interest me, and they would only be two more refusals LOL

Oh! How come I can get it then? I'm not USA. :/

message 1686: by Tati (new)

Tati If Penguin USA holds the rights to Australia, then you can get it

message 1687: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
If you go to the books page, and click on 'view' next to sales rights -

It should come up with a pop up box which tells you where the publisher is publishing the book. If your country isn't on there, then they can't legally give you the book.

message 1688: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments Oh no! Do you get in trouble if they give it to you and you are not in those countries? I have gotten a few book from Penguin USA before and just assumed it didn't matter! Shivers... I hope I am not penalised for not knowing that.

I've no idea. I've never been told off on edelweiss before. Penguin USA have never accidentally approved me though. i just check the sales rights before i request anything now.

I wrote Netgalley about that some time ago, and no, no trouble. I guess it's the same with Edelweiss.

I always say that, then I read one ARC and well...back to my physical copies! Lol

I so rarely read physical copies now. I like that I can read my kindle one-handed, and in the dark.

message 1696: by Tati (new)

Tati Where is that chocolate? HarperCollins has broken my heart... Again. I fell like Michael Corleone in The godfather 2, when he says to Fredo 'you broke my heart'

For some reason I don't really look at my ebooks as "real" books :S It's like...cheating? Don't ask me why! Haha :D

Tati wrote: "Where is that chocolate? HarperCollins has broken my heart... Again. I fell like Michael Corleone in The godfather 2, when he says to Fredo 'you broke my heart'"

That's bad! Haha :D *hands you chocolate*

message 1698: by Dana (new)

Dana | 887 comments thats why I have yet to go on edelweiss, seems a lot harder to get review copies then netgalley and i can hardly handle all the rejections on there so dont need to double that lol.

also i also find the user interface on edelweiss to be pretty clunky and that has kinda turned me off.

message 1699: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 47 comments I find I get accepted for more on edelweiss, so I guess it depends. The thing I prefer about edelweiss is that you get to write something when you request a book. I dislike that netgalley does not have anything like this.

I also like on edelweiss that it shows when the book was put on the site (i.e., 1 day ago, 2 days ago...).

I have been accepted by Penguin USA for a couple of books now but I will now make the effort to check. I don't want to risk the drama of it.
