They're only available for reviewers to request. If you go to the help section it looks like there's an exclusive for each (librarian, media, etc.) depending on what the publisher is looking for.
This isn't netgalley or edelweiss, but it's something that i think people will be interested in!
Rockstar Book Tours are currently taking sign ups for the
blog tour!
Sign-ups are open until September 25th, and you need to have read both Grave Mercy and Dark Triumph to be considered. Printed ARCs are available.
You can sign up to be a tour host here (if you aren't already signed up) - http://rockstarbooktours.us6.list-man...
and sign up for the Mortal Heart blog tour here - https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1z-EJ...

Has anyone else realized that some books on Netgalley "aren't available for request yet"? I've been avoiding the site lately so I'm not tempted to request too many more books, so I don't know how long it's been there but I find it weird.
I also noticed that a few books are listed as not available for request. I find it super annoying. Hopefully there is a good reason.
There's a a button with a wishbone for those titles that aren't available yet. Pressing it lets the publisher know you wish it was available for request. Maybe they're putting up some titles up earlier than schedule to gauge Netgalley member's interest in the book.I actually kinda like this now!
But it's annoying! I saw a title there that I'm dying to get my hands on, and it wasn't available for request. Talk about frustrated expectations...
They should probably separate those from those available to request, like in an "upcoming" section or something similar.
It looks like books that will be available later on next year. However, I agree there should be a different section for that.
I've found that it does that with titles that i've already requested, so i'm wondering if they take so many requests, then switch it to 'not available for request'?
No, that's crap if they're going to do that for new books they've just put on there! have you noticed that
is on there and it's only the first 3 chapters? if publishers start doing this for all books i will be seriously pissed.

Kindle app is free if you don't have it and signing up with Amazon (Kindle) is also free
This 'I wish it was available' thing on NetGalley is so annoying!Logged in to see that
was on there, only to find out it's not available for request!
I'm also not impressed that
is on there as a 'read now', but as soon as you click it you find out that there's no kindle option. ugh.

It's so frustrating! You get excited to request it and then find out that it's not available for request...I wonder whose 'genius' idea was it
My question would be, if loads of people click 'i wish it were available', will they simply say 'oh well, looks like there's enough people interested, maybe we don't need to give out review copies for this one?', I just don't see the point otherwise. It's like the publishers on edelweiss who never seem to approve anyone, you wonder whether the book being on there is basically just an advert.
All of the books that I am finding that are like that are 2015 releases. They are May, June, July, etc, releases. Are those like that as well? Maybe they will become available closer to the release date. I would think right now since it is only October it could be that the ARCs are not available yet, but they were like for the readers to know that they are coming. Basically publishers are trying to get more buzz out there about the books.
I don't mind it, but I wish they would add the date we can request it or put it in a separate place rather than with all the other books. It is kind of nice knowing what books are going to be available early so I know not to request a ton of books when a lot of books I want to read are going to be available.
(UK, Australia e EU): https://www.netgalley.com/catalog/sho...Definitely not for me, but in case anyone wants to request it.

Defiantly won't be requesting that one!

ok question regarding Edelweiss how do you check to see if you have been approved for books with them?
Is it me or is it all the books you really want to read on NetGalley is A not for your country or B not available? Why do they even put it on there if you can't get it? I understand its good advertising but still it gets your hopes up.
@Once I feel like all the good ones are either US only or UK only too sometimes! I am lucky that sometimes there are ones that are AUS only too though. :)
@Rachel when I go for the ones I really want to read there mostly UK but then there are the ones that I really want to but I will get denied because I just started but I really want to read like
. I only have a 57% approval rate.
@Once: I wanted that book too but I think I was only for a certain country :,(
@Once Try reading a lot of "read now" books. You don't have to be approved so download a tonne and quickly review them - it will boost your ratio up. That's what I did for a couple of months before I even started requesting. It really helps. There are some good ones up at the moment. I'll link them below. Maybe we could buddy some???https://www.netgalley.com/catalog/sho...
