Oh haha. I added all these because why not and because I'd like to give them a try. I was also invited to another book but I don't read that kind of book.

Katie I actually clicked on The Sorcerer Heir (The Heir Chronicles, #5) by Cinda Williams Chima from the email and it automatically accepted the invite. But it's a chapter excerpt and says it's book 5 anyway, so I just sent feedback with the note I wouldn't read it.

The others I'm just not sure if I'll have time to read.

These Violent Delights (Robin) | 779 comments Yeah, it really sucks that it is just a chapter excerpt, plus I haven't read the other books but I recently purchased an e-copy of the first book becasue it was on sale. So I'm just going to read the whole series then.

I hope you enjoy them :) I might get around to the series sometime but I'm not in a rush to.

Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) Yeah, got the email too. However it really wasn't anything good on there.

Melek (chaissar) @Dana: I think I won't be able to start today right now, it's a little late here now, but I'm downloading it. You can start today if you want

@Irene: I've done the same today. I feel like I've had too much chocolate for the day and now I'm feeling guilty.

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments I requested four yesterday as well as got approved of two within the hour. Now I feel bad because I wanted to cut down my review copy pile! :(

Haha, well, not really, but they were the books that I thought may be worth a shot. Now I'm going through the approved ones, I have only one left other than one Read-Now (that Zombies book above). I guess I'm fine so far.

message 1571: by Tati (new)

Tati I know it's a new translation, but it was sure weird to see Anna Karenina as available on NetGalley

Liz's Book Bucket List (lizsbookbucketlist) | 7 comments So I just got approved for a book on Edelweiss for the first time today. I have a question about the expiration date. Do I need to download it by that date or have it read by that date? Do you get to keep the books like on Netgalley or do they get taken off your device?

Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) I was wondering the same thing.

message 1576: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) You have to download the book by the expiration date. You'll still be able to submit your review after that date. I ent think I've ever had an e-arc expire off my Kindle (or my Amazon account), but I have heard they expire off if Nooks (I don't have a Nook, though, so I don't know for sure).

message 1577: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Kaitlin I agree with you. I have never had a e-arc be deleted off my kindle before but I am pretty sure that some of the other devices - Kobo, I think - do delete after a while. I don't have one those devices though so I am not sure either. :)

message 1578: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments I just submitted my first edelweiss review and was a little confused. That part where it asks you to tick "submit to publisher" or "submit to indie" - what does that mean? I didn't tick it because I wasn't sure if I was meant to!!

message 1579: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) @Rachel The "submit to indie" is for members of the American Booksellers Association, so if you're not a member, just click "submit to publisher."

message 1580: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Kaitlin Oh, okay. Thanks! Oops. Can you go back and change it? :)

message 1581: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) @Rachel I'm not sure. . . .

message 1583: by Tati (new)

Tati The Orphan Queen (The Orphan Queen, #1) by Jodi Meadows is downloadable on Edelweiss: http://edelweiss.abovethetreeline.com...

message 1584: by Tati (new)

Tati Dang it, The Orphan Queen is just an excerpt...

message 1585: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Sunset Rising (Sunset Rising, #1) by S.M. McEachern https://www.netgalley.com/catalog/sho...

I read this one last year. It's a really good one!

Tatiana wrote: "Dang it, The Orphan Queen is just an excerpt..."

ha ha! We had this conversation the other day. the ******* didn't say it was only an excerpt until loads of people complained about it!

message 1587: by Tati (new)

Tati Yeah, they're saying it now, only it's only in the page where all the DRCs are listed. Not on the book's page... GRRR

I guess I'll read it anyway, so I can have one review posted there

message 1588: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
I refused to read it. If people compain about it enough maybe they won't be tempted to do it with all their ARCs.

Kirsty (Amethyst Bookwyrm) (amethystbookwyrm) I hate when they do excerpts, especially when you cannot read the rest of the book for months, they should make it clearer :(

message 1590: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
They really should. If it was clearly marked as an excerpt in the first place then people would be aware of that before requesting it. I got really annoyed when it happened with Midnight Crossroad (Midnight, Texas, #1) by Charlaine Harris earlier this year.
Is this going to be the future for ARCs? Because if it is, I'm not interested.

Kirsty (Amethyst Bookwyrm) (amethystbookwyrm) Yeah I'm fine when it is clearly marked, because I can avoid it, but it is very irritating when it is not.

Tati Is it just me that can't access NetGalley?

Amy | 2535 comments Tatiana wrote: "Is it just me that can't access NetGalley?"

No, I can't access NetGallery either Tatiana. Saying there is a connection problem when I'm pretty sure that's not the issue.

message 1594: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments I can't get on either.

Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) It's working from my phone.

message 1597: by Tati (new)

Tati Anyone knows what is that "Reviewer Exclusives" option that showed up on the Browse menu on NetGalley?

message 1598: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Tatiana I just noticed that myself. No idea!

message 1599: by Dana (new)

Dana | 887 comments I just assumed that it was arcs that are only available through Netgalley?

message 1600: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 47 comments I saw it yesterday too. I assumed it meant it was available for request for reviewers only and not for librarians...?
