When are you planning to read it? I may join you if the date would be okay with me, I haven't downloaded it yet. :)

Well, I will probably be busy as hell until the 23rd, after that I'm almost free, any time after 23rd would be fine. :)

I didn't even bother requesting that one, Penguin have never approved me for a book in 2 and a half years.

Yay :) I'll download it once I'm able to :)

About Anlantia, it's weird that they've done that. I can understand not taking it down or not making it archived, but they could at least be considerate and write a note or something on the page. :/

That isn't very good! I don't mind being denied, I understand that I am not the most popular blogger, but I am a little frustrated that they would still have it available for requests when they emailed me saying they don't have any review copies!

Two and a half years? What exactly is their problem?

I think most of their books must be US only or something. I've given up requesting them though. it's a waste of time. they never approve me on netgalley either.

It's probably so that their reviewers who are auto-apprved can still download them. Other publishers are worse though. some never say yes or no!

The first book I was ever approved of was Penguin though!

That makes sense but its still a little frustrating! I would be so annoyed if I never got an answer! Even a decline would be better.

I hope you like it more than I did. it was a big disappointment for me.

message 1475: by Tati (new)

Tati Yeah, I didn't like it either... In fact, I couldn't even make myself finish it

message 1476: by Melek (new)

Melek (chaissar) Why was that, both of you? I'm on chapter 13 and I like it so far, though there are some gaps here and there.

It was awful, the first 15% was alright, and then it was terrible. The best part was when (view spoiler)

It seemed like the book completely changed from around the 30% mark, and after that I just hated it.

Huh. I'm more into political parts of dystopias, so maybe that is why I like the way it turned out to be. Still, I agree that the best part was that, I'm planning to read that part again and again after finishing the whole thing. I even have a freaking theme for that part.

message 1480: by Tati (new)

Tati I love it when they have that political side as well.

I don't really remember why, but this just wasn't for me, I remember being extremely annoyed while reading.

message 1481: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments It's back and forth with me and Netgalley. I read two-three books, and then I'll get approved for two-three books. So I'm constantly at 12-14 these days :P

message 1482: by Tati (new)

Tati I'm like that as well, Irene. At least I've finally managed to get my ratios in the 70% range

message 1483: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Yay, that's good! :-) I was at 83 yesterday, but today I got two new ones, so noW I don't know

Liz's Book Bucket List (lizsbookbucketlist) | 7 comments I have only been using Netgalley for a couple months and was wondering if you get to keep the ebooks you are approved for? I was looking at my kindle and noticed I still have ebooks that have been archived. I thought they were removed from your kindle after 55 days after being downloaded.

message 1489: by Dana (new)

Dana | 887 comments On Netgalley you own the books that you are approved for. Just make sure to download it before it is Archived.

message 1490: by Ayah (new)

Ayah (dystopiancitzn) After being archived for a while, you won't be able to read it . Even if you have already downloaded it.

message 1491: by Dana (last edited Aug 21, 2014 09:30PM) (new)

Dana | 887 comments Weird, I still have access to all my books 6+ months later. The only ones that expire are comics because I read them through adobe.

message 1492: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) It depends on what device you have. I've heard they expire off Nooks, but they stay on Kindles.
