I think you need to log in to edelweiss and then try. If you're not logged in the request buttons won't show up.

This isn't netgalley or edelweiss, it's a blog tour that you can sign up for. I really loved the book so if anyone wants to read it it's a good opportunity ☺
Gypsy (The Cavy Files, #1) by Trisha Leigh http://xpressobooktours.com/2014/06/0...

message 1119: by Tati (new)

Tati The way things are going, I'll have to spend July and August reading only ARCs (I got Dangerous Boys, among others)

message 1120: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments I'm unsure about dangerous boys, i wasn't too keen on dangerous girls!

message 1121: by Tati (new)

Tati I kinda liked it, so I decided to request it

message 1122: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
I didn't request it as I haven't read the first one yet. I really want to get my review pile back down to less than ten!

message 1123: by Tati (new)

Tati I'm not sure it's a sequel, it doesn't seem to be.

message 1124: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
I don't think it is a sequel, I just don't know if the first one is any good so I thought I'd not request it. I have too many review copies anyway!

message 1125: by Tati (new)

Tati Tell me about it... I need some kind of restraining order that stops from opening NetGalley

message 1126: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Doesn't look like a sequel. Those characters weren't in the first one.

The first one was really confusing. It jumped around a lot! (like Far From You) The ending was really good though!

The jumpiness is the thing that's putting me off.

Okay, I'm happy with how my netgalley dashboard looks now. It has taken freaking months to get it down to 4 books!

Now I just need to work on my edelweiss account....

message 1128: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Well done!! :)

message 1129: by Tati (new)

Tati I have Perfected as well! And I'm jealous of your dashboard!

message 1130: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
because it's skinny? or because you like the books?

message 1131: by Tati (new)

Tati because it's skinny! Mine is nowhere near that...

message 1132: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
Mine was awful at the beginning of the April challenge. I think I was up to about 30 or 32 books? Something like that! Feels like it's taken forever to get it down!

Wooooow that looks amazing Sarah! :o :o :o What do invitations mean?

I have 0 invitiations, 38 approved and 21 feedback.

message 1134: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53706 comments Mod
I just never read them! I always have due library books. :/

message 1135: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53706 comments Mod
Now I really need to read the Throne of Glass series because Bloomsbury Publishing PIc (UK & ANZ) is one of my auto-approvals, and I just requested Heir of Fire to see what would happen and I just got it! That easy! :D So now I'm gonna read the series. :D

Invitations are when a publisher sends you a pre-approval link to read a specific book. So one of those invitations I got was for Infinityglass (Hourglass, #3) by Myra McEntire because I was specifically asked to review it by one of the PR companies who were handling the launch ☺

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53706 comments Mod
Oh right so that's a good thing, right?

message 1138: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
Sometimes. sometimes they send you an invite, and if you click the link it accepts the invite before you even know what book it's for! I got caught out by that once because it was a book i didn't really want to read.

message 1139: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53706 comments Mod
Why would you turn down an invite? That's crazy! Isn't it an honour to be invited to read a book?

And does it send you an invite via email?

message 1140: by Tati (new)

Tati I'd say it's a good thing because it means they value your opinion enough to want you to read that book (rather than the other way around).

However, when clicking on the invite just to see what book it is for means accepting it, then that's not okay (in my opinion). You should be able to see what it's all about and then decided if you want to accept it or not.

message 1141: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53706 comments Mod
Yeah exactly. I guess I need to start reviewing my books more accurately and more decently.

message 1142: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
I think this one was more than nobody had requested it, so they randomly sent out invites. the problem was it wasn't my sort of book at all. it was this - Out of Nowhere by Maria Padian

Usually invites are good things, but if its a book you don't want to read, its annoying.

I also got an invite for The Testing (The Testing, #1) by Joelle Charbonneau , and accepted it to find that there was no kindle option, which was als annoying.

message 1143: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 53706 comments Mod
Oh that's annoying! So you can only get Kindle books? Good thing I get epub.

message 1144: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
It's just more difficult for me to read the books on my laptop compared to on my kindle.

I have Between the Lives by Jessica Shirvington Paradigm by Ceri A. Lowe Floating Boy and the Girl Who Couldn't Fly by Stephen Graham Jones and Glitch (Lost in Time #1) by Brenda Pandos on my list. I'm most eager to start the first one I listed, but if you've access to any of these, we can do a buddy read :)
