Simon Vance is recording the audiobook narration for Secret Speakers at this very moment. I am verrah, verrah excited--first of all that he's the one narrating it.

Second, that I get to hear the story come into my brain from a source outside myself. It will be great to hear it as if for the first time . . . in Vance's British accent no less (which talent has garnered him many, many audio awards.) Stay tuned audio book fans!

Simon Vance was just named an AudioFile Magazine Golden Voice, which is basically the Hall of Fame for narrators. He also just won an Audie in the Classics category for his narration of Great Expectations. Congratulations Simon!

Mockingbird | 9 comments I love, love, love his voice. Great choice for a narrator. Kudos to Mr. Vance for his latest award.

Donna Hatch (goodreadscomdonnahatch) | 1 comments I'd love to have my book available on audio tape, but it's not something my publisher offers. I wonder if it's something I could do on my own...? Hmmm. Have to check on my contract about that. Since it's a Regency, a British accent would be perfect. Sigh. Maybe someday.
Anyway, a big congratuations to Mr. Vance and to you that you got such a distinguished voice actor do read it.

My husband and I pursued this on our own and were really fortunate that Vance wanted to take on the project. If you're already under contract, you'll have to check and see if it's a possibility. Since we're independent publishers it wasn't an issue.

Good luck, Donna!
